Gian gave us our privacy. I told him to change his clothes first before we proceed. Pansamantalang inaalagaan ni Gian si Cotton sa backyard. Ramsis quietly sat on the single couch across from me. I folded my arms over my chest and raised my brows.

He gave me the same reaction.

"You dropped the call when I called you the last time."

"Nasa klase pa 'ko no'n, Emrie. My phone was confiscated by our professor because it suddenly rang during his boring lecture. Akala niya yata ay sinasadya kong gawin 'yon dahil overtime na kami... I just retrieved my phone back yesterday."

Nakataas pa rin ang kilay ko. "Still? You didn't call me... kahit kahapon?"

He smirked.

"I am testing your patience and composure, Emrie, that's why I didn't dare to call you back. Why don't you loosen up and allow yourself to get clingy with me?"

"You've already touched me and you have the sass to tell me to get clingy with you? What else do you need?" pagsalba ko sa sarili kahit alam ko rin naman sa sarili ko na pinipigilan ko lang maging clingy. I don't want to appear demanding.

Lumawak ang ngisi niya. Nawala na ang pagtiklop ng kanyang mga braso nang nanginig ang balikat dahil sa pagtawa.

"Why are you laughing?" I stared blankly at him.

I am so insulted!

"You sounded dirty right there, Clair Emrie... stop talking like that!"

Umakyat ang init sa magkabilang pisngi ko. Binato ko siya ng unan na agad naman niyang nasalo. "Take me seriously!" I shouted in frustration.

He was still laughing when he lifted my arms to help me stand up. He circled his arms around my body. His warmth was immediately transferred to me. Pinatakan niya ng halik ang aking sentido.

"Sorry. I forgot I have to settle your materials that day. Kinailangan lang talaga ako ni Sloane noong panahon na 'yon. She's so broken and occupied from their family problems. I wanted to comfort her because that was the only thing that would help her feel validated. Noong nagtext ka, hindi ko na nasagot dahil hinatid ko si Sloane sa bahay nila. You told me that you'd be busy that coming week... but I still tried my luck, bumisita ako sa apartment niyo pero sabi sa'kin ng lady guard ay maaga ka raw umaalis. I was there to drop off the materials that I promised you but you were away."

I sighed. Yumakap na rin ako.

"Nagalit ka ba sa'kin? I raised my voice on you that night."

Naramdaman ko ang pag-iling niya. "Hindi... natakot pa nga ako, e. Ako naman kasi 'yung may kasalanan."

"I'm so sorry," I whispered.

He chuckled. My feet were almost not touching the ground. Umangat ako nang kaunti sa paraan ng pagyakap ni Ramsis.

"Did you miss me, though? That's the important question right now."

"I did..."

My heart boomed inside my rib cage. Parang gustong kumawala dahil sa lakas ng kalabog.

He let out a breath of relief. "Narinig mo ba 'yung sinabi ko kanina... habang nag-uusap kami ni Gian?"

"Yes. You almost told him our relationship. Please be careful."

I felt him nod because his chin hit the base of my shoulder. "Have you heard that I love you? I do mean it, Clair Emrie," napapaos niyang komento.

I flinched.
