A few days had passed, it was now the Monday before Midsummers. I still had that stupid dinner with Topper and his mom on Friday, that I hadn't told anyone about. Pope had been trying to figure out the drone for a few days now.

Kie and John B went into the water. They were our test subjects.

We had to be able to see underwater. So, Kie and John B were our best options.

"God bless geeks, Pope. Truly, man." Jj comments.

Jj, Pope, and I stayed on the dock. We were trying to figure out how the drone worked. Although, Jj wasn't much of a help.

"What would we do without you to control the drones?"

"Technically, it's not a drone. It's an ROV."

"Shut up. Shut up. It's too early for that right now."

I laugh at the two idiotic boys. "When will y'all ever stop fighting?"

"Never." They agree.

"Hey, once we get footage of the wreck, we'll bring it to a lawyer in town and file a formal claim." John B explains.

"How will we afford a lawyer?" I question.

"Kie is rich as fuck." Jj comments.

Kiara rolls her eyes at Jj's comment.

"Right."

"Why do we need a lawyer anyways?" Jj asks.

"Well, there is a maritime salvage law. You can't just go tibthe ocean floor and scoop a bunch of stuff up." Pope explains.

"As soon as theybsee the footage, they'll work for a comp." John B says.

"How do you know all that?" Kie questions.

"Cause my dad said it, like, a million times." John B states.

"Isn't the evidence we find going to be, like,  inexcusable and a court of law?" I question.

"What?" Jj asks.

"Like, even if the evidence is real, and is factual, what we did-- stealing from the Salvage yard-- is still illegal. We stole the drone."

"No, we borrowed it." John B smiles.

I roll my eyes, and Pope changes the subject.

"This tether is, like, really long." Pope states. "In the wrong weather it could get pushed around."

"Then we'll go at dead calm." John B comments as he gets out of the water.

Thunder begins to rumble.

"At slack tide?" Kie says.

"So now we just gotta wait around for the right weather."

"Today is not that day." Pope states as thunder rolls in the clouds above us.

Pope and Jj invited me to go help them with Heyward's groceries, but I decided to go talk to Topper about his shopping offer.

I really didn't have that many nice clothes. Plus, I was, unfortunately, going to midsummers with him and his mom anyways.

When I got to Topper's house, I noticed a familiar vehicle approaching the driveway.

Rafe Cameron, Sarah's older brother. He was about 19, yet still lived with his family and couldn't get a job.

"Leia!" Topper shouts from the truck.

I turn and face them. "Topper."

"We're going golfing, wanna join?"

I hear a small whisper come out of Rafe, "Dude, she's a Pouge."

"Not for long." Topper replies.

"Sure, why the fuck not?" I fake smile.

"Great. Hop in."
