"not another one" charmy groaned 

the day was going ahead as normal for the chaotixs

finishing up paperwork from the last case, Espio meditating in the corner and charmy flying into walls because he wasn't looking where he was going 

an average Saturday afternoon 

that was before a massive random portal showed up in the middle of their living room

instantly everyone was shocked and went into defence mode 

Espio reading his kunai, charmy flying high and vector putting himself in front of the portal ready to stop and blow fire into whatever or whoever that was trying to attack 

the three stood in silence, waiting for anything to emerge, but after a while, it seemed like it wasn't doing anything 

"Ummm.....what's going on?" charmy asked, his confusion taking over the tension 

"How should I know, I'm not the expert on portals!" vector yelled, voice full of confusion itself 

"It isn't like silvers portals, nor warp rings...but mabye...no, doesn't seem like Time Eater's either" Espio pondered, trying to make sense of the mysterious gateway 

it was a mix of light blue and dark red with a few green sparks that fizzled once every minute 

"maybe Eggman?" vector asked 

"hmmm, not likely, he takes advantage of mysterious and ancient powers by using his machines, but creating them is an entirely different matter" Espio continued 

as the two carried on their conversation, their youngest member began to get more curious 

slowly but carefully he approached the portal 

until his hand was only an inch from touching it 

"maybe we should ask-CHARMY!" vector began before seeing that the bee was too close to the floating threshold 

charmy was so shocked by the outburst that he accidentally touched the portal

and at that moment his arm was grabbed by a black glove from the other side 

charmy let out a scream of surprise as the hand began to drag him in 

at once Espio and vector were on his side, trying to pull him away and out of the portal 

but that one black glove was soon joined by 2 other pairs, including its pair, meaning 3 pairs of mysterious figures were trying to pull them in 

luckily they were strong enough to prevent that from happening 

unlucky for them, the hands had good grips, so much so the chaotixs had brought them with 

vector pulled charmy into his hold as Espio got his weapons out ready to attack the intruders 

but it would be a lie to say that Espio wasn't taken back as he saw who their intruders were 

3 figures, a bee, a crocodile and a chameleon 

ALMOST exactly like themselves 

the bee was purple with white stripes with red wings and a dark blue uniform 

the crocodile was red, with violet scales and chain, along with blue spikes 

and the chameleon was green, with a dark blue horn and eyes along with a lighter but still dark blue heart-shaped chest, although the heart was designed like a broken and shattered one 

it was them, but also...not them 

it was like their reverse selves 

colours 

"haha, look guys, it's us" the emerald green chameleon laughed with a mischievous smile 

and personalities as well it seemed 

it was so shocking to the counterparts to see something like Espio smile like...THAT 

they didn't know how to even begin to feel 

"calm down oip, no need to get so excited" the reverse charmy sighed 

and once again they were at a gasp 

"so, It seems that you all are other uses from a different dimension" the reverse vector sighed 

it seemed in their universe, Espio seemed to be the only positive one 

"that's right, but by how you addressed your partner, I think our names are reversed as well" vector chuckled 

but the other didn't laugh, seemingly to roll his eyes with a huff 

"Yeah, I'm vector rotcev, the bee's charmy ymrahc and the guy who's laughs like a maniac is, oipse the pirate and we're the calmz's, hitmen for hire that makes sure no one can find the bodies" rotcev stated 

hitmen? 

"ah...so we are true opposites" growled Espio 

"I'm guessing so" ymrahc sighed, but kept a close eye on the other chameleon 

already deducting that in this universe, Espio would be the sane one and the others.....not so much 

"jeez, more espio's" charmy groaned, earning a glare from the purple chameleon 

"heh, well um I'm vector, the bee's charmy and the guy who doesn't smile for no one is Espio, a ninja and we're the chaotixs, DETECTIVES that go detecting for any price " vector quickly announced 

"any price, so desperate...just steal it, it's easier" 

"We would never! what, why would we, we would never result in such loathsome-"Espio began with outrage, how dare they suggest such an action before vector placed a hand over his mouth 

"hehe, what my friend is trying to say is, we don't do that sort of thing over here and, maybe it would be best if we stick to the worlds we know" Vector chuckled sheepishly, just because some things swapped, doesn't mean their abilities or skills did as well 

to be hitmen it would take a lot of skill, and by looking at the green chameleon's weaponry, containing bombs and pirate-like swords,  it meant he knew what he was doing 

"I believe that would be best" rotcev agreed, but it seemed like his counterpart, he had seen the ninja's weaponry and thought the same thing  

"awww, but we didn't get to kill anyone, didn't you see all these opportunities?" oipse whined, looking at the window like a predator waiting to catch his prey 

"we've got plenty of opportunities back at home sicko, we're leaving now"rotcev growled as he grabbed the green chameleon by the horn and dragged him into the portal with him

"Until we meet again" ymrahc shrugged as he flew inside the portal 

and as fast as the portal appeared, it had disappeared into nothingness 

"did they even give a reason why they had arrived ?" Espio pondered 

but vector simply stared at where the portal was 

their actions

the way they acted towards one another 

it was clear there was no love 

no love in those black empty eyes of theirs 

it was then he knew they were true opposites, he loved his team like they were his own flesh and blood 

vector took that time to truly appreciate what he had

yes one could be annoying and the other ridiculously stubborn 

but the way Espio moved in his way to protect them

how charmy held him close as the only being that could protect him

the banter the two younger ones shared

vector would never swap it for the world
