"it's over Eggman! your fleets have been destroyed, so give up right now!" Silver declared as he and his new team stood victorious within the ruins of battle

"Never! I'm not being defeated by a team of a low-class bunch of idiot detectives" Eggman snarked with fury

not even the great and all mighty sonic and he was still getting his butt whooped

and by chaos, he was not letting it continue

with his last statement, he shot off the last defence mechanism, directly at the group

"lookout!" Espio yelled as being the first to react, pushing silver out of the way who was busy using his telekinesis to hold onto Eggman's egg holder in place, being pushed to safety as the chameleon was thrown into the target

Espio gasped as a sudden blow and pinch to his abdomen where a small vial was lodged

"espio!?" the team shouted in shock and worry as they watched the teenager double over chocked and knelt on the floor

"oops" Eggman quipped sarcastically as attention was drawn from him, allowing him to fly into the sky

"what was that?!" Vector asked with fury

"oh just a little reverse evolution serum, have fun" Eggman chuckled as he took sadistic joy in the situation

and it was too late to grab the evil man as he zoomed off, laughing maniacally

only for a cyan glowing boulder to hit and plunge him out of the sky

"How dare he!" silver screamed as he clutched his distressed boyfriend desperately

only for a strong force to push the chaotixs to the side

growling and snarling filtered the room as the serum emptied of the vial

and fully within the chameleon's system

"espio?" Charmy asked with fear as his brother shook his head angrily, hands clawing the floor and eyes sharpening

"esp, you need ta-" vector began only for the chameleon to hiss angrily at the croc, snapping at him

on all fours, tail curling and uncurling as his scales turned red and black espio eyed the group with danger

"charmy, keep behind me, seems Eggman did something to make him primitive, and you know what unevolved chameleons ate and did to their prey" Vector whispered as he held the bee behind his back

the chameleon circled the group in inspection and unfortunately, the croc was right, the chameleon's eyes wouldn't leave the bee as he circled the group

"Maybe if we don't move we-" silver whispered only to watch the lizard's eyes widen and mouth slowly begin to open

"MOVE!" silver shouted before a rapid pink appendage flew in the air

luckily it hit nothing

unfortunately, it caused the chameleon's aggression to grow, going from defensive to attack

"vector make him stop!" Charmy screamed as he and vector were chased by swipes and horn attacks

"We need to get that vial out of his stomach, if we send this to tails maybe he could make a quick antidote" Silver stated as he used his telekinesis to lift the two off the floor

"right but how? he's not going to stay still enough for us to grab it" charmy moaned

the hedgehog and crocodile pondered as they watched espio growl angrily above before moving to the corner, laying on the floor but keeping a squinted eye on the 3

"Even when he's insane he's crafty" Vector grumbled as the silver hedgehog had a plan

"look, I have an idea, but we just are slow and quiet " Silver whispered as he raised himself and his team-high

"you sure about this?" Charmy asked with worry as he and his team flew directly above espio

"Just trust me, I know what I'm doing, all his attacks are mainly head and tails, we eliminate them, we can get him back to normal" Silver assured

"I really don't know how you know this, but for now I'll only hope this works" Vector added as silver slowly lowered them

"me too, ok, when I say now, do what we agreed" Silver replied as the two nodded in agreement

"now!" Silver shouted as they dropped

and even before the chameleon could snap his eyes open he found himself being held down by three figures

silver held espio by the back of his neck, gently but enough to stop him from turning while vector held a flailing tail, turning him topside so charmy was able to grab the vial, yanking and causing a mighty growl

"easy esp, easy" silvered cooed as he sadly watched his boyfriend writer in fear anger

"charmy, call tails and send him a sample of that liquid, there's a little left I can see" Vector instructed as he was hit by the purple tail

"We should still try to calm him, we can't just let him go, he's going to try and eat charmy or attack us" silver stated

"the only way we're going to have him calm is letting him go, the more we hold him down the more distressed he's going to get" Vector replied with caution

but before they could continue their discussion an excited bee came flying back

"good news, tails knew the poison and has a cure already ready, he even wraps ringed it to me" Charmy explained his happy mood as he revealed a needle of pink liquid to contrast with the red before

"perfect, ok buddy, time for your medicine," Vector said with relief as he reached out for the vial, although ignoring the whips that were much more persistent

"do it now, I'm starting to lose grip" Silver stated desperately, espio was anything but a quitter and his wriggling and dangerous lunges proved it, the hedgehog even getting nicked by the sharp horn in the process

so without further ado, the croc plunged the vial into the chameleon's abdomen once more

it was horrible to watch as his friend writhing in pain

luckily the withering slowed as the chameleon's teeth became less bared and eyes began to dull

hisses and growls became whimpers and moans

"espio?" charmy asked as he flew just above the chameleon's head

"charmy?" the chameleon asked with tiredness, earning 3 sighs of relief

"glad to have you back buddy" Vector smiled as espio huddled himself into the hedgehog's chest fur

"espio?" charmy asked as he poked the chameleon's horn

only to be wrapped in the chameleon's arms

"huh?" charmy asked with confusion

"I think the serum took it out of him, suddenly seeing red to go blue, no wonder he's so tired" Vector couldn't help but chuckle

oh well, snuggling was much better than biting and trying to eat their youngest member
