Three weeks had passed. Hiccup still laid in his peaceful coma. Each day after classes Merida would visit him and pray. Something she didn't use to do. She prayed that he would fight for his life. Fight for his future. She would pray that he would wake up. But as the days passed their five year anniversary crept closer until the what was supposed to be joyful day, arrived.
"We are going to try and take him off of the ventilation system later." The doctor informed Merida. She nodded, not removing her eyes from Hiccup's face. Swiftly, the doctor left Hiccup's room. Merida began to mumble a soft tune to Hiccup. He voice was croaky from the tears yet soulful and believing.
"When the cold winds are calling and the sky is clear and bright...misty mountains sing and beckon lead me out into the light..." She mumbled. Merida rested her head next to Hiccup's hand and continued to sing. "I will ride, I will fly, chase the wind and touch the sky..." Merida sobbed into the bed. "H-happy anniversary Hic-Hiccup.." She cried.
"You too princess." Came a dry and sleepy voice. Suddenly Merida stopped crying as a hand brushed the side of her cheek. She glanced up in disbelief only to stare in Hiccup's deep green eyes. "I love you Mer.." He sighed.
"HICCUP!!" Merida yelled gleefully. She carefully leaned forward and kissed his cheek.
"I-I thought I was going to loose you!" Merida cried happily into his chest. Hiccup lifted one weak arm and stroked Merida's hair lovingly.
"I'm not going to go anywhere Mer..You're gonna put up with me for a long time." Hiccup chuckled.
