Rapunzel and her mom and dad sat at the dining table with Jack and his mom, dad and sister.
"So how are your college courses going?" Rapunzel's mom, Lilly, asked.
"Alright I guess, I'm getting back into the flow of studying after the Ed Sheeran tour." Rapunzel explained.
"So far so good." Jack chuckled. They chatted simply for a while when they suddenly heard footsteps coming down the stairs. Hiccup and Merida emerged, Hiccup's hand was tightly holding Merida's. Immediately, Rapunzel noticed the tear stains on Merida's rosy cheeks.
"Mom, Dad, please can we have a minute?" Rapunzel asked softly.
"Of course sweetheart." Her dad said as he and his wife stood up. As they walked off, Jack's family joining them. apprehensively, Hiccup and Merida sat opposite Rapunzel and Jack.
"I don't really know how to say this. I-I.." Merida croaked. Hiccup squeezed her hand reassuringly. The once confident red head inhaled sharply before releasing the air slowly. "I'm Pregnant." Merida whispered. Rapunzel and Jack sat in silence, staring at them in disbelief.
"Are-are you sure?" Was all Punzie could muster.
"Two lines..." Merida confirmed.
"You guys will make great parents, sure you're only 19 but still college will be over soon." Jack smiled reassuringly.
"Plus, Jack and I will help out when you need it!" Punzie enthused, a huge smile was spreading over her rosy cheeks.
"Aweeeeee you guys!" Hiccup and Merida cried in unison. The four friends stood up and enveloped one another in a group hug, a mixture of tears and smiles were on their faces.
"What's all this ruckus for?" Merida's mom chuckled awkwardly from the door way. The four split apart and fanned out. Merida stepped forward to face her mother.
"Mum, please for the love of God do not freak out when I'm about to tell you this...I'm-" Merida was suddenly cut off by her mother's soft voice.
"Yer pregnant? I know, you can tell by your mood swings and the glow upon yer skin." Her mom explained.
"Yer not mad?" Merida questioned.
"Well I'm not mad but I'm not ecstatic." Her mom chuckled, still a crease was visible on her brow from frowning though. "We'll talk more soon dearie, for now enjoy the rest of the weekend, we will be having a bonfire when the sun goes down." Elinor smiled. She glided out of the room, her emerald green maxi dress swooping after her, Merida spun on her heel to face her friends.
"Well that went better than expected." She mumbled in surprise.
