~three weeks later~
"Do you have your bag packed Punzel?" Jack asked his bubbly girlfriend.
"Yup! Now we just have to meet Merida and Hiccup out front." She informed.
"Great. I'm so glad that we get to see our families this weekend." He beamed.
"I know! It's going to be so fun with everyone staying at Merida's mom's lake house." Rapunzel squealed.
"I just hope I get some time alone with you sunshine." Jack whispered into Rapunzel's ear, a seductive smirk played on his lips.
"Oh hush you." Rapunzel giggled; she laid a hand on Jack's chest before kissing him softly on the lips.
"We have to go now." Jack whispered against her damp lips, Punzie bit her lip in acknowledgement.
~~~
"Mer just let me put your bags in the car!" Hiccup sighed in frustration.
"No! I can do them! Okay? I'm not a fragile flower!" Merida huffed as she hauled her bags into the boot of Hiccup's car.
"Geez, why are you being so over reactive lately?!" Hiccup cried, throwing his arms in the air.
"I dunno, okay?!" Merida screamed back. Angrily, she pulled open the passenger door and jumped in, slamming the door behind herself.
"Woah..." Jack whistled in amazement behind Hiccup, which earned him a dig in the ribs from Rapunzel.
"Just get in the car." Hiccup sighed. As told the couple piled in the back with Hiccup slipping into the front beside Merida.
~~~
Several hours later they pulled up into the huge driveway of Merida's mom's lakeside cabin. Still in a mood, Merida leapt out of the car, quickly got her things and stormed off to find her mom.
"Hiccup, is Merida okay?" Rapunzel asked as she watched her best friend stomp off.
"I dunno Punze, she's been acting so moody recently and I just don't know what to do." Hiccup murmured, a croak sounded in his voice.
"Talk to her, without shouting or getting stressed." Rapunzel laid a hand gently on Hiccup's shoulder before walking off up the driveway.
"Hey mum!" Merida called as she ran towards her waiting mom.
"Awe! Merida I've missed you!" Elinor cooed as she enveloped her daughter in a hug.
"I've missed you too mum." Merida sniffled into her mom's shoulder. Just then the others caught up and Elinor hugged each of them.
"Come inside! Choose your rooms and get settled in, your families will be arriving soon." Merida's mom lead them in and soon enough they had chosen their rooms.
~Later on that evening~
Hiccup padded up the stairs from dinner and headed to his and Merida's room, he knocked on the door softly to make sure Merida was decent.
"Come in." He heard her mumbled quietly. Carefully, Hic pushed open the door and closed it behind him.
"Baby, please tell me what's wrong..." Hiccup said as he edged closer to Merida. She was sitting on her side of the bed facing away from him, her head bowed and her hands clasped together as if they were holding something. Slowly, Merida turned to face him. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying, her once glowing skin was pale.
"I-I-I..." She tried to speak. Hiccup stopped dead in his tracks when he noticed what was in Merida's hands. Her voice was barely audible.
"I'm pregnant."
