Chapter 5: On The Prowl

A/N : Yeah I used light Mobius Tails. Think it fits better to the astetic though. Dunno if I spelt that right lol. He's still the same age as normal though.

"Find Tails with the assistance of Silver. Watch out for rouge robots."

Dare found Silver's location and rushed over to an abandoned favela. There she saw the ivory Hedgehog, looking over some rubble. Dare ran up and slid beside him "Hey, I'm Dare, I was sent to help you. You think you've found him?"
Silver looked over at her before looking back at the damaged city
"Saw some footprints that matched his, going through here."
"Have you followed them?"
"Too many bots, even for me."
"I could help!" Dare said, smiling as she twirled her pistols. Silver smiled
"Alright I think we stand a better chance!" he said before pointing deeper into the favela "He's somewhere in there."
Dare nodded "Let's go get him then." she said before her and Silver rushed into eh favela. They blew past any bots, woth Silver lifting them long enough for Dare to jump up and twirl, a hailstorm of bullets firing from her gun. They went down a street and that's when they saw him.
"Tails!" Silver yelled. The fox looked back, shuddering as he smacked another bot upside the head with wrench. Silver looked at Dare as she jumped into the air, flipping over and firing her pistols full auto and blasting the other bots. Tails got onto all fours and ran, with Silver attempting to grab him with his telekinetic powers. Tails was too fast though and quickly hid himself. "I'll chase him!" Dare said as she holstered her pistols and gave chase, hopping onto a rooftop. She could see him running too, back onto his feet. Dare quickly sprinted, hopping rooftop to rooftop. She felt one collapse and quickly rolled so she could keep her momentum. She got back onto the rooftops and saw Tails across from her, just a street away. "Tails!" Dare shouted. Tails didn't respond. She then noticed that Tails' path intersected with hers. She sprinted even faster and met him at the intersection, tackling him. She rolled them to make sure she landed on her back, as to not hurt Tails as the roof collapsed. She landed with a loud crack as they fell through a table. Dare groaned as she felt her back sting. She looked down and noticed they Tails was knocked out. She smiled weakly before getting onto the radio "Silver... Mission accomplished, I got him..."
"This is Silver, copy that. I'm coming!"
Silver said before flying over to her, his figure shadowing over her. She smiled a little "Can you get him up? I think I hurt myself..." she asked. Silver flew down and picked Tails up before holding his hand out. Dare took it and grunted as he helped her up. Dare held her side as her and Silver started to walk back to HQ. "Dare, you ok?"
"Yeah... I'm fine.."
"You sure? I think you took to hard a fall!"
"It's... Fine. Little pain doesnt hurt. Well it does, but... You get the point!"
"We get back, you need to get to the medbay. I think you hurt a rib!" Silver told her. Dare sighed "Fine. But I don't think I hurt myself that bad!" Dare responded. After a while of walking and avoiding bot patrols, they made it. Dare limped into the clinic and saw Shadow. He looked over and almost lost it, seeing her hurt. "Mar- Dare, what happened, how bad is it!?"
"Think I bruised a rib, not much."
"I'm taking you out of action, I'm not risking your life!"
"Shadow I'm-"
"You're hurt, I'm not risking it!"
"I'm fine!"
"Listen to me Maria!"
"I'm... Not... Maria! And don't ever call me that ever again!" Dare yelled in his face before walking off. Shadow was infuriated and ran up to her "Dare! I don't want you getting hurt and possibly losing you!"
Dare turned, breaths of anger escaping from her nose "We lose this war, both of us will be lost. You really want that!?"
"No, but I'd rather fight beside you then with you!"
"Then let me fight!"
"No!"
"Then you can go and shove it! I'm done." Dare yelled before moving out of HQ, kicking the door open. Amy blocked the door. "You really hurt her feelings I hope you know." Amy said with a face that Shadow had never seen: anger. Shadow went to say something but held his breath. Rouge walked up to him, Omega beside her "Shadow, what just happened?"
"I screwed up..." he responded quietly. "...But it doesn't matter, we got a ship to steal. Meet me at Space Port." Shadow then said before giving one last glance at Amy. Meanwhile Dare was out on her own. She limped through the town, grabbing a hold of a wall to help her stay up as she coughed, her chest getting a sharp pain. The pain was too much to bear and she collapsed, her eyes slowly starting to close. Right before she blacked out though, she saw a pair of blue flamed boots...
