Shadow: Forces (Cringe)

Chapter 3: Park Avenue

"Broken steel, not pride."

Dare rushed into Park Avenue, the battle raging. She checked her map and made sure she was at Bravo's location. She hopped down from a building and saw an Artic Wolf fighting some bots. She ran up to him and started fighting by him. She noticed his rich blue jacket, with a white waistcoat with a belt across his chest. The inside of the jacket was a tan felt. On his pants was a leather belt. He also had on some black chaps with blue flamed boots. His hair was dark gray, almost black, just like in the photo.
"You Arnec?" She asked, blasting some bots. Arnec huffed as he continued fighting "Yeah! Could use some help!"
"What do you need me to do?"
"You afraid of heights?"
"No!"
"Good... Armor up top is weak, I'll slice it open while you blast it. You have a wispon don't you?"
"Even better." Dare said, pulling out her pistols. Arnec smiled "Alright!" he said happily before two demon wings sprouted from his back. They were dark gray, with a blue pattern on the inside. Several bots appeared, surrounding the two. Arnec drew his sword and smiled before curling his wings, laser launching from them. They acted like missiles as they found their targets. Dare looked over as Arnec stopped and saw that he was leaning on a piece of rubble, out of breath. An Egg Hunter appeared and Dare rushed at it, firing her pistols rapidly. With each gunshot came an explosion. The explosive rounds tore through the Egg Hunter's armor, ripping it to shreds. It collapsed in pieces and Dare ran up to Arnec. He smiled as she helped him up "Thanks for that! Woulda been a goner were it not for you!"
"What's with the wings?"
"Those? I'll explain some other time. Right now we've got a Death Crab to deal with!"
Arnec said, pointing his scabbard at the massive crab mech.
(in case you didn't know what they were, here's a photo. They look similar but have way smaller legs, because the long legs they had in Sonic Forces just didn't make sense to me, as I thought it should be more like the Scarab from Halo, 3 specifically. I'll put a picture of it at the bottom in case you don't know what it looks like.)

The massive mech busted through one of the buildings, roaring as it spotted the two.
(Rules of nature (TPC remix) - Metal Gear Rising (not on OST.) Anyone starts singing rules of nature in the comments you get a cookie... Well not a real one sadly. What?)

The Death Crab looked down at the two, a red line beaming across it's eyes. Two large cannons folded out, forming two "pincers". It roared loudly, a blast of wind knocking some dust up. It aimed at Arnec and fired, him dodging it and launching a wave of energy from his sword. It did little, the Death Crab not even flinching. He jumped up and twirled, his wings boosting him up. He hovered and launched some lasers from his wings, cyan streaks flying across the sky. Again, very little. It aimed one of it's guns at Dare and fired. She dodged the cannon round and shot at it, her pistols accuracy being lacking at range. A few shots hit though, damaging the cannon. It continued firing at Arnec, who dodged each shot by what almost appeared to be teleporting. Dare took her chance and opened fire, stunning it. It quickly recovered as Arnec landed. It raised it's cannon and tried to slam it on top of Arnec. Dare quickly tackled him out do the way and helped him up. She rapidly fired her pistols, damaging the cannon. Arnec hit up and jumped before slicing one of the cannons off. It roared as it attempted to swipe him, missing horribly. He held his sword backwards ashe landed, the blade glowing blue and electricity crackling. He slung it and it spun as it sliced the other cannon off. It looped around and sliced one of it's legs too.
"Now we finish it! Got some spare grenades... Might be useful!" Arnec said, pointing to an explosives box. Dare a grabbed some grenades and watched as Arnec flew up, using his wings to extend his jump so he could slash the Death Crab's face. It stumbled back, collapsing an empty building or two. Dare grabbed Arnec's hand and he tossed her above it. She spiraled and fired her pistols full auto, the rounds tearing through the death crab's armor. She landed on top of it and tossed a few grenades inside of the bot and it exploded, launching a large shockwave. Dare slipped and thought it was over. She then felt two hands on her, one holding her legs, the other on her shoulders. Her eyes were closed so she couldn't tell who it was though. She felt the ground as the person landed and she opened her eyes. It was Arnec! He gently let her down "You okay ma'am? Quite a fall you took."
"I'm fine thank you, and just call me Dare."
"Alright Dare. Thanks for the help. Amy wasn't lying when she said you were good."
"Oh... Thanks." Dare said, her cheeks rosy red in embarrassment. Arnec blushed himself "Sorry if that came off as weird."
Arnec said as he rubbed the back of his head. Dare smiled "No it's... I'm new here."
"New here? Oh. I can show you around once the battle's over."
"Um... I'll see if I can!" Dare said, smiling as she ran off. Arnec smiled a little as he looked at his scabbard, shaking some of the dirt off. Dare got on the radio "Shadow, how's Charlie doing!?"
"It's doing fine. Team Dark and I have it down. How's Bravo?"
"All enemy forces are down! Just that Arnec guy, from Bravo... "
"What about him?"
"I need to see him after this?"
Shadow hesitated, causing Dare to raise an eyebrow in suspicion. "Shadow?"
"Yeah... Go talk to Amy." Shadow responded. The battle slowed and eventually most of the enemy bots were destroyed, with the rest retreating. Dare and Shadow headed back to HQ. Amy smiled as she saw the two "We did it! We actually won with only some casualties!"
"Yeah... Some..." Shadow said as he walked by. Dare smiled a little "You don't get victories often?"
"Not really. And when we do, it's usually at a heavy cost. So... Need anything?"
"Could you get Arnec over here? I'd like to talk to him."
"Alright, says he's not busy so I'll see if I can get him over here. Might be a bit though so you can go to your room for the time being. It's an old office, but we've got the basic commodities."
Dare smiled "Thank you!" She said before finding it right by Shadow's. She sat down and took a break as she waited...

(picture of the Scarab. See how the legs are? Gives it the support it needs and it's not likely to tip over unless you hit it with something that's got a lot of mass or weight. Kinda what I was thimking for the Death Crab since it's legs were WAY too long. Almost like it was designed for getting tipped over by a certain red wolf who might appear later.)
