Luke POV:

My head hurts. My throat is dry. My eyes won't open. I think I can hear beeping and my side is super warm, like there's a body press against it. Pretty certain it's a human from the soft breathes on my neck, but I have no idea how I got here. My eyes still won't open and my small grasp on reality slips away.

When I come vaguely to next, I can hear words above me, the beeping more obvious. Except the words aren't really in a language I understand.

"Torna Luke, so che puoi sentirmi adesso, tornare, mi manchi!" the voice sounds half familiar, but I still can't open my eyes. "Ora Lucien Taylor!" the voice orders and my eyes snap open of my own violation even though I don't understand a word of what the voice just said. My eyes are open for about two seconds, long enough to meet a pair bright green eyes. "Sapevo che eri lì dentro, oops I'm not speaking English am I! I'm teaching Jess Italian first as none of you guys speak it, I did consider Latin, but what's the point of learning a dead language?" her voice whitters on for a bit longer, but I'm no longer listening to the words, it's musical and my ears seem to love it. I know that my eyes are asking who she is, not that I expect her to understand, but she goes to open her mouth, as if she does. Then her head tilts and her eyes fill with tears. My eyes shut again, as I try to comfort her, move, speak, in any way at all, the beeping noise splutters briefly, "Ninja, don't you dare fall now!" Ninja? No one calls me Ninja...

Wait Ninja...Cupcake? As much as I love them why the hell am I thinking about them right now, when I'm in some kind of hospital. When there is a girl crying beside me. The sounds vanish again, and I realise I'm not waking up fully yet.

When I wake up for what I think is the third time, I can't feel the warmth beside me anymore and my hand twitches reaching for something that isn't there.

"Luke? You awake?" a slightly older version of a very familiar voice asks

"Titch?" I mutter, why the heck is Jess here. My eyes crack open, and land on the dark-haired girl. Why is she here, her and Kota are arguing almost constantly at the moment! Why would she come and see me? Her face is tanner than I remember, her hair a few shades lighter. My voice breaks over the word, my throat achingly dry.

"Drink this!" her hands shove a glass in front of my face, then she realises that I can't drink lying down and easily helps me sit up. Far too easily, I can feel that her arms are now cored muscle rather than the sticks I remember.

"Have you been working out?" I manage to ask past the tightness in my throat. Jess choaks out a laugh, but it seems forced. She tilts the drink back to that I can take a sip; it tastes amazing! But it doesn't seem like any medical I've ever had before. "Where are we?" I ask her, my voice much stronger, her eyes flash with indecision. "Jess don't move!" I say urgently, what type of hospital is this? There is a monkey hanging from the ceiling! She freezes looking at me curiously. "There is a monkey above your head!" I breath, she lets out a sigh and turns. I want to grab her and pull her back, I read somewhere that they can be dangerous, yet everything can be dangerous can't it, walking across the street... I quickly pull myself out of the memories trying to stop her, but my arms still aren't working.

"Charlie?" Jess asks the tiny monkey; it nods with a weird grin on it's face. She rolls her eyes and holds out one hand. "Didn't your mum tell you to wait for her before coming to see your dad?" He looks, I would say, if I didn't know better, embarrassed. Jess gives him a stern frown as he hops onto her arm.
