Hi anyone who's reading this!
This is the first time from Jess's POV! She is going to be quite a main character so I hope you like her and the way I write her!
Jess POV:
Even though Luke's here and I enjoy spending time with both him, Gabe and North, the way my brother is making goo goo eyes at that witch makes me feel like I need some air, even though I'm outside already.
I mutter something about going to explore, as the boys have the unloading under control to my mum, before I bolt. I hear her yell of 'be back before it's dark', I just send a thumbs up over my shoulder, before I head into the woods over the road.
They are totally different to the woods round our old house, they felt safe, but boring. These feel exciting, in an ancient almost magical way, as though there's an element of danger just waiting to make it's self-known. I am about a hundred meters in when I realise I'm already lost. Oops... well I did want to get away from the idiots, so this is a good thing, right? I can't help, it even though I know it will get me even more lost, I continued to walk, something intangible drawing me further and further into the ancient woodlands.
I'm going to say that the fact I am staring up at the trees, trying to find the bird I'm sure can hear, is the reason that I don't notice the fence until I walk into it, literally face first. I feel I slight buzz, a shock like ive been boucing on a trampoline, then everything goes black.
I can't have been out for that long, because when I wake up everything seems the same, except I think I'm on the other side of the fence?
But it kind of looks the same? So.... I can't be sure. The fence has a rip in it, so.... I guess I could have fallen though. Maybe? I know I can't stay here, because if I am on the wrong side of the fence then I am one hundred percent trespassing, on very private property, going by the huge, apparently highly electric, if broken fence. I stare at it trying to assess whether I'm on the correct side. I can hear movement on the side that I'm sitting in which makes me think this is probably the side I'm not really supossed to be on...
The bear makes me let out a startled squeak, then I try not to make another sound, but he has obviously already heard me, or smelt me, because he turns. He looks straight at me and I'm terrified. A moment later he is walking slowly towards me, the floor, slightly damp, is making it hard to grip with my feet, as I scramble backwards, even if it just bum shuffling, anything to get away. I do manage to make it about ten meters before I hit something. A tree.
I want to start screaming, but something has made it impossible for me to even open my mouth- fear. He comes closer and closer, I just know his going to kill me, I really don't want to die. Why did I come out for a walk on my own? Why did I think this place was intresting? This is just dangerous! I my eyes shut and I'm mentally praying to every god i know the name of as his breath hits my face.
"BB!" a female voice calls softly, "Where did you go?" it sounds like she's calling her dog and that he disappears a lot (but comes back), judging by the laughter in her voice. I can't let her get caught be the bear, not like I am!
"BEAR! RUN!" I yell as loud as I can, hoping she takes me seriously and gets out of there as fast as possible, even as my eyes stay closed. He is still right above me.
"Dammit BB you found a human? Is she the what came through the fence?" her voice comes again with the same giggle. Wait BB is the bear? That's what it sounds like. No way? This person has a bear as a pet?
I crack my eyes back open, the tiniest amount, the bear is still there, but now his sitting back on his haunches and looking over his shoulder, to where I assume the voice is coming from.
