It's not me, just someone with my name. Her brain kept telling her this over and over again. But the picture, it was her. She would ask, say that Renjun was lying. But frankly - she was too scared to.
What happened yesterday? And what happened to Liu Meihua? Who was Liu Meihua? How did she... the questions slipped away. Every thought that she had slipped.
It stumbled along a rain drenched pavement. Sliding along the sodden concrete and tumbling around the sleek rain-adorned lampposts of her mind. And slowly the lampposts too turned off as she lost the traces of what she was thinking.
What was I just thinking? There was something, what was it? Nevermind, I'm hungry anyway. Meihua finally got up from the sofa and continued into the kitchen.
Mark and Donghyuck were there but not Renjun.
"Hi." She said softly, nodding towards to the two boys before moving past them to get a cup to drink water with.
"Hey, Hua." "How was your television watching?"
Is that even a question? She decided to answer anyway, not answering would be more awkward. "Good, a school blew up or something."
And they froze. "Which school?" "It didn't say... Hmmm, but I remember some of the names. They seemed familiar not going to lie." "Really? What names were they?-"
"Shit- I think my cousin goes to that school... Do you remember any names?" Hyuck gave the older boy who had just cursed a questioning look. Before realising what he was doing. Meihua never saw this exchange though.
"Well, I really only remember like Ningning, I think and... Kai?"
Both boys sucked in a breath.
"Wait is that your cousin?"
Worse, it was much worse than that.
"Sorry for you loss..."
And they could say the same for her.
