Meihua arose in a cold sweat. Sickness powering through her stomach and her previously digested food surging back up her throat. Her blood swirled its way to her head and darkness slurped up the edges of her already blurry vision.

She didn't like planes. Or flying. Or anything high up in the air for that matter. It wasn't that she was afraid of heights, per say, as she had no issue with looking up at birds that were flying at terrific height in the sky. More so, it was that she didn't like physically being up at said heights. And was therefore unable to contain her horror as her flight descended from the sky.

She hadn't been on a plane in a while. It felt as though it had to have been longer than just over a year when she was heading to that little village tucked into the corner of Korea. It was for some weird course at school which she had accidentally entered herself in a few years back. Meihua was definitely more than glad to be on her way back home.

And better yet, she would be able to celebrate her 18th birthday at home with her family, which she hadn't been able to do the way before, to her misfortune.

So, as much as she hated being on the plane, she was overjoyed that she would finally be home.

Ten more minutes until the flight landed; Meihua found herself getting slightly nervous. It didn't make sense that she was nervous to see her own family, these were people that she had know all her life, and was scared, after spending just one year away, to see them again.

Her palms clammed up and her breathing got heavy. What would her brother look like now? He wasn't doing too bad when she left, she wondered if he was still in shape. She imagined that he'd be waiting at the other side for her when she arrived.

Quickly packing up her gaming equipment that she had strewn across the three seats she had to herself, she prepared herself on what she was going to say to him.

"Hi! It's me, huahua-" No, cringey.

"Heyyy~ I'm back, motherfucker-" ummm, no, lmao, it was bit much, he was still her older brother. To respect him just a little after one year of not seeing him wouldn't do any harm.

"Hello-" She paused herself.

Why was she preparing what she was going to say to her brother? Surely, he wouldn't care at all-

Suddenly, everywhere got very bright and Meihua realised that she had subconsciously walked off the plane and into the airport without noticing. She then heard a voice,

"Oi, meihoe, long time no see. How was your adventure in Korea?"

There he was, standing with his arms wide open, waiting for a hug.

Fuck, she remembered, she didn't even end up planning anything to say to him. So she blurted out,

"Whatever, yangbitch, and yeah, it was so much fun that I think I just might never need to do that shit again!!"

She had to lean her head against his chest as she didn't have enough free hands to him properly. Seeing this, yangyang quickly dragged some bags from her hand, almost making her fall over.

"oi, bastard- be careful please, you almost made me fall over. but thanks."
She added with a second thought after thinking over his intentions.
Yangyang grinned at her before walking to his car, his younger sister following closely behind him.

"So~ are you excited for school after summer, my favourite little sis?"
"Ew," she crinkled her nose, "And I'm literally you're only sister, but I'm not sure. I don't really wanna have to go."

"It'll be four years, that's not too long, besides, I went to the same one, the people there are nice."
He told the seventeen year old girl who was in the passenger seat next to him.

"It's my birthday soon." She chirped happily, changing the subject after a bit of thought.
"Mhm, fifth of August, right? So that's three days."
Meihua nodded her head, she couldn't wait until she was eighteen. Good things always happened when a person was eighteen.
