I missed my best friend. She was my rock, my shoulder to cry on. I was so grateful to have her, until she stabbed me in the back, and became friends with EZ. She would visit him in the prison, she had family in there. It was more than that. We went together to see him, I waited for him, she waited for her family. EZ and I had a fight. I stormed out, and I had left her there. It was partly my fault. She could have come after me, but I know how bad she wanted to see her family there. I cried in the parking lot as I waited for her to visit her family that was inside.

"Assholes." Mom muttered, I looked over at her in shock. "It takes one to know one." I scoffed as she stared at me. "Yeah? Well I also know a traitor. Doesn't mean I am one." She spat my way. "Hey, you're here for 1287? He ain't coming out." A guard had told me. "Hm, wonder why." She mocked. "H-hey, I'll hang with you if you want. I'm not up to go back just yet." The inmate said quietly. "Yeah, thanks." I replied as he slowly sat down at my table. "Slut." Mom sneered at me from across the room. "Gemma. Shut up, please." I had snapped, as Clay walked into the room. I had adverted my eyes as he curled his lip into a snarl and had thrown it my way. The inmate stared between us quietly. "Hi, my name's Ezekiel, but everyone calls me EZ." He said breaking the silence, and tension. "Nice to meet you EZ, I'm July." I replied. "Hey, didn't you go to school with me?" He had a faint smile on his face. "Emily did. And hey. I'm sorry about the commotion earlier. My girl-" he started, but then had bitterly cut himself off. "My ex is pregnant, but I just broke it off. I'm looking at 20 years. I had accidentally killed a cop." He said. "We don't have to talk about that if you don't want to." I replied quietly. "It's the truth, I gotta face it sometime." He spat. It was a soft spot. Easily triggered him. I know that kind of pain. Clay was sitting at a table not even 6 feet away, staring me down. Jax and Happy could save me from him. From everything around me. Hell, maybe even the whole world. But they'd never save me from myself. That was the worst thing that I'd fear.
"My dad, and my brother are in, 14 months." I said. The unspoken pain had found light in his eyes. He only nodded in recognition. "I'm sorry. They're lucky to have you." He said. Gemma had scoffed from the table over. He glanced over at her, then back at me. "Do you know her or something?" He asked. "Yeah. Or something." I mumbled. "Ahem, I birthed this bitch. A sorry excuse for a kid." Gemma spat. Clay's eyes had zero'ed in on me. "Good thing she's not my blood." He had commented. "You're just pissed you can't have any kids anymore grandpa, and you would've only ever wanted boys anyway. To carry on your precious legacy." I spat. He stood up as he stared me down. "I want a conjugal. With you." He spat. "Gross. I don't wanna fuck, Clay." I spat. His anger was now radiating out in waves. "That's not what I'd be doing to you, sweetheart." He growled. His eyes shone pure anger. EZ had stood up as well. He had stared Clay down. "You won't touch her." He said. "Ah" he laughed. "I see what's going on here. What, is she giving you great culo, son? She's a user, she'll fill you up and empty you out all at the same time." Clay said. Gemma laughed. "You're both so disgusting." I said as EZ and Clay sat back down. "Yeah, look whose talking." Mom countered. "Fuck you." I spat. Clay stood up, his eyes had locked onto me. "Don't ever speak to your mother that way again, you fucking whore." He growled. "Why? What'll you do about it asshole." I spat. He looked at the guard who had turned around briefly, he smirked as he snarled at me. He had been making his way over, cracking his knuckles in hope and anticipation. He stood right in front of me, ready to make contact with my face, he had pulled his fist back, I was ready to put this mutt down. That's when a voice yelled out from across the room. "HEY!" A gruff tone had stopped him from making the impact. I took that chance to kick him backwards, knocking him on his ass. My solid kick had slid him a few feet away. He stared at the source of the voice. "July." A stern tone had shook me to my core. "He deserved it." I growled as I sat back down. He had got up and wiped the blood off his mouth. Spitting it out into a waste basket. "You owe me a damn tooth, sweetheart." Clay spat at me. I had been quiet as the guards had took clay to his cell. Jax sighed at me. "You just got Happy and I in deeper shit." He said as he wiped a hand over his face. "So, sis? What's this surprise visit for?" He asked. "Ben." I trembled. "I need a- pizza delivery- ordered to him." I replied quietly. Jax's eyes shone with anger and worry. "Done." He said. All emotion, but anger, had been drained out from the tone he used. "Anything else?" He asked. "And, EZ Reyes? I need him in your protection, now." I said. "Shit. Really? The cop killer? I-." I cut him off. "Yes. Please, Jax. He's about to be in shit with Clay too." I said. He sensed the urgency in my tone. "You care about him." He sat back, a questionable smirk on his face. I rolled my eyes. "Maybe." I sighed. "Jules, you know-" "You can't take in strays. I know." I mocked. He had made me burn that statement into my brain. "It's just- he's different, Jax." I said. "Yeah" he laughed, "that's what you said about Cherry, too." He remarked. I cringed. I did mess up with Cherry. She turned to a hoe after a while of hanging with all the guys. It was truly different with EZ. "I gotta think on it, alright?" He stared at me. "But- I'll get back to you once the shit's over with." He said. "Ok. And tell Hap to come out to see me, please?" I asked. He smirked, "no promises, he's still a stubborn fucker." Jax laughed. "Thank you. Really J, I mean it." I said. "Yeah, yeah." He laughed quietly at me. "What's family for, huh?" He asked. I had teared up when he was taken back to his cell. I'd visit every other day, both Jax and EZ.
