Before we continue forward, let's take a few looks back, to critical scenes that I have decided to change in the series.

Starting: back to the day that Jax killed Gemma.
-7 a.m.-
Jax.
I got a text that Piney wanted to meet.

<from P.>
{Meet me in the alley behind T-M. 30 minutes.}
{sure old man, do you mind saying what this is concerning?}
{hell no, just be there. 30 minutes.}
I groaned as I typed out a response but was quickly sent another text.
{and I mean in 30 minutes, boy.}
I scoffed, muttering quietly to myself.
{no problem. See you in exactly 30.}
I went to put my phone away when it started blaring AC/DC's Highway To Hell. A woman was walking past as she glanced over at me in curiosity. <Baby Sis-Kryptonite is calling> I smiled down at my phone, of course she would pick a ringtone that fit her in my phone. I rolled my eyes as the screen lit up, missed call. She's not gonna like that. But knowing her, she had quickly called me again. "Yeah." I said, I could hear the exaggeration that threatened to spill. "What the hell Jax? You made me call twice?" She complained. "What? I liked the song too much. Sorry." I replied, playfully defensive. "Mhm, making me put in extra effort to get ahold of you." She laughed. "What are you doing now?" She continued. "Uh, I was gonna go down to the IHOP to pick us both up somethin', but I guess I won't now." I teased. Her and her damn pancakes. I shook my head to myself and smiled as she started quickly complaining. "Please?! You'll be the best brother ever." She whined. "Sorry, I'm the only brother." I said. Unfortunately. She begged some more. "-Don't mess with me and my pancakes Jax, you don't want a hell storm this early in the morning." She threatened. "Ok, ok. Get your smart ass down to IHOP in 5." I demanded with a playful tone, I ended our call. I sighed as I quickly texted Piney back.
<to P.>
{change in plans. You want some hotcakes old man?} I texted. 2 seconds later he had replied.
{from where?} skeptical as shit.
I shook my head slightly, grinning. Not even 5 seconds. Why's everyone so crazy for pancakes, it's a Saturday.
{we'll be at IHOP. July is meeting us.}
{good. Better if I talk to her too.}
I sighed as I got on my bike, maybe Abel would want some back at home. Well, guess everyone's gonna get their pancakes today. I laughed as I started my bike. I tore down the quiet street, car alarms blaring loudly as I passed.

I parked my bike, walking up as I smirked at my little sis, her slight dirty blonde hair was thrown in a bun. A slight gray long sleeve shirt was hanging from her shoulder, along with some signature gray sweats that she always wore, and some Vans. She had her arms crossed, while shifting her weight onto one leg. "Took you long enough." She called, as I walked up. "You could've ran in." I remarked. "I wanted to wait, figured you'd be quicker than that." She replied. "You and your damn pancake addiction." I scoffed as I held the door open for her. "It is an addiction, and I'm proud." She laughed. "Shouldn't be." I replied. We stood at the front as a brunette came over. Her hazel eyes made me tense up. "For two?" She asked, her eyes darted between me and July, seeming to be unbothered my by gaze. "Three." July spoke up. Her worried glance to me was barely registered, then my hand suddenly got warmer, she was holding it tightly, I squeezed a few times, letting her know I was fine. "Three waters, and a hot chocolate." July said, "two. Please." I said, finally staring up at her, she had nodded and smiled, walking off to get our order. "What the hell was that." Jules asked. "I don't know, I just- saw Tara. For a split second, and it freaked me out." I replied honestly. "Well stop that, it's creepy." She said, lightly. "Yeah." I replied. It was much like when Opie had sacrificed himself in jail. We'd come home, without him. She kept asking where he was, grabbing me. I had to hold her up until I couldn't.
~
"Jax? Jax?! Where's Opie? Jax! Where is he?!" She asked frantically, as she ran up to me while she grabbed my shirt, then balled it in her fists. "Jax!" She cried, my heart broke. My mind. She cried onto my chest, as her legs quickly gave out from underneath her. I grabbed her as she leaned on me. "Jax." She sobbed. I couldn't stand any longer as I gently lowered us both to the TM (lobby?) floor. We sat there for hours. In silence. The guys were worried about her mental state. I had reassured them over and over again that she was fine, she was a fighter. A survivor. She was strong for me when I needed her, when Tara was gone, when I found her, July was the one who I called, I had laid beside my dead wife for hours until I called her. She picked up right away, she drove down in the dead of night to stay with me. We slept on the floor, in a fort that she made in the spare bedroom. Abel loved it, it was like the horrors of that night didn't happen. I loved my little sister. I loved her then, and I love her even more now. She's like an extension of myself, I always knew it.
~
My sister stared at me as if I would break down at any second, I smiled in return, "I'm good, kid." I said, she raised an eyebrow, "swear I am." I laughed, as the waitress set our water down and two mugs with whipped cream. Every time I'm with her, she makes me feel like I'm a carefree kid again. Tara had made me feel young too, but with July, it was a different type of young. Like she was just born. I saw her sitting in that toaster instead of Abel, she was 1lb 11oz. (A/N: Fun fact, I was born a little over 3 months early and this was my actual weight,  so I thought to incorporate something about me into this story somehow😆)
"Piney what the hell?" I asked as he sat down quickly. "You guys, we need to talk." He said, "no shit, you said that already." July replied. We talked for a bit, ate pancakes, we enjoyed the day. I had to go out on my own soon. I knew. But I wanted to make this moment normal, to make it last. My sister was the one who it would most destroy. My sons were too young, they could start over. I had to leave. "I'm gonna go check on the boys, I'll see you?" I said, trying to sound as natural as I could. She smiled over at me, nodding. Laughing at Piney's joke. Her blue eyes were bright, her smile was genuine. Joy. Pure joy. I snapped myself out of the trance and walked away, walked away from her.. From her light, and into a dark tunnel.
