It was before I left. I was best friends with Jax. I was sat on the couch with Jax, raving over our stupid video game we were stuck on. He had texted me earlier to come over. "Oh, I'm so beating your ass dude" I laughed as Jax only ducked and maneuvered out of my way. "In your dreams." He said as he dodged. The door opened and I heard her beautiful voice. "Hey guys I'm home!" She called out, to no one in particular. "Yeah sis, in here!" Jax called back as I heard her walk in the doorway behind us. "Oh, you're just getting creamed, big bro." She laughed as I was kicking his ass in the game. "FUCK" he cursed, as I had gotten a great hit in. I laughed at his demise. "Sorry man" I said as he cursed again when he had died. "Best 2 out of 3?" Jax asked. I rolled my eyes and scoffed as I stood up from the couch. I saw her heaving a box from her room. "Need some help?" I asked as I took the box from her. She nodded and gestured towards her car. "Thanks" she smiled. "Anytime." I replied as I stacked it into the packed car. "So, are you going somewhere?" I asked confused. "Um, yeah actually. I got into Colorado Uni." She said, the surprise was clear on my features. "Wow. Congratulations." I laughed as I pulled her into a hug. "You're not mad, that I didn't tell you?" She asked. "Why would I be? My girl got into fuckin' Colorado!" I laughed as I spun her around in my arms, my excitement had mirrored hers. I wanted to hold her there for forever.

July:
Summer had ended. My nights with Dean were the best to remember. I crossed the bridge into the city. I wanted to see sights. I just hoped everything was good for him as well.

The weeks she had been away were hell. "Come on man!" Jax groaned as he saw me in the same grumpy and sad mood that I've been in since she left. "You need to get out, have some fun. Let loose." Jax said as he passed me a beer. "Here. It's a start." He said, as we took a few swigs and played the same stupid video games as always. "I gotta go see her." I said. He groaned. "Dude. She's living it up. Without you." He said. "I know. I just think if I saw her" I trailed off. "Look, to get over her, you gotta get under someone new. And I know just who to call." Jax smirked. "No. Alright, Jax? I'm not getting off with Cheryl." I cringed. "Why not? She's fun, she's sexy." Jax argued. "Ok? She's not July." I added. "Dude! Stop with the July shit." He said. "Listen, you didn't hear it from me, but ma got really excited for thanksgiving. Like, way too happy excited. Something's up." He said. "And I've also heard she's bringing a plus one. Someone named, Tyler? Anyways. Look, you gotta bring Cherry man" He said as he stared at me expectedly. "No." I replied. "Dean, drop it. 'Cause if you don't, I will." Jax said. He was dead serious. He's always this crazy. "Fine." I said as I grabbed my phone and had dialed cherry's cell. She picked up on the second ring. I mentally scoffed. She's a second place anyways. July would've picked up before it even started to ring. I sighed as I looked at Jax, who looked at me pointedly. "Hey, you wanna hang out with the teller's on thanksgiving with me" I asked. Her excitement was so amped, I had cringed and held the phone away from my ear. "Okay. See you then." I said as I hung up. "There. You happy now dickhead?" I scoffed. "Don't worry. July is a sucker for you man, she'll be eating out of your hand by the time the dinner is through." Jax winked at me. "You better hope this works, or I'm really gonna be breaking your face." I said. "It will. Trust me." He smirked as we got back to our video game and our next two beers. I sighed, dreading Thanksgiving dinner.

Thanksgiving.

I made sure to wear a jacket and some slacks. The only time I'd dress up. It was important to Gemma that the family was there. I was nervous. It would be the first time seeing her since she had went away to college. I thought distance would be easier. It only made me realize how much I had missed her. I wasn't sure what I'd say. If she was actually with Tyler, what would I do. I wouldn't win her back. I mentally prepared myself to see her greet me at the door. Instead Gemma had smiled at me when she opened it. "Dean, honey! Good to see you!" She welcomed me inside. It smelled great. "It smells amazing in here." I said. She smiled out at the bikers, who were all crowded around outside. She got the turkey out of the oven, the stuffing was transferred over to another pan. I helped set the table, despite Gemma protesting against me helping. Jax announced he was picking her up. All the guys had jumped in on the chaos.
