July
I got to the small butcher shop in the town. "Hello! I'll be with you in a second!" The man from the other room yelled. He came out wearing a white apron. "Can I help you?" He asked. "I'm looking for EZ Reyes?" I replied, the man gave me a skeptical once over. "You a cop?" He asked. "No sir, my name is July Teller-Lowman." He looked at me and hummed in response. "What do you want?" He asked. "If I could just talk to him-" "No, that won't be happening." He replied. "If he's not here that's fine, I just need to talk to him-" he cut me off "I said, that won't be happening." He repeated, more attitude. "Pop it's fine, he's in a trailer, down at the mayan's clubhouse." A man walked in. He eyed my vest as his jaw clenched slightly. "You gotta lose that kutte." He scoffed as he headed back to the large refrigerator down a side hallway. The older man made his way into the other room without a second glance. I slowly walked back outside to my bike as I slid the kutte off my shoulders. A memory overtaking my senses again.
{the day I came back to samcro after my depression, the news about Dean. I parked in my spot next to Hap's bike as I cut the engine, quietly walking in and seeing Chibs stood at the doors of Church. "Come on in here lass, we got somethin' for ya." He said as I made my way into the large room with the men sat at each seat, all staring at me. Chibs cleared his throat slightly as he made his way to the front of the table. "We all know you've been down in the shit lately, which is why we wanted to cheer you up a bit." He stated as he looked over at dad. "You do the honor brother?" He said as Hap smiled and stood up from his chair. He reached down and grabbed a large cardboard box as he made his way towards me. I slowly opened the box as I stared down at a leather vest, dad smiled encouragingly at me.  "Is this?" I breathed. "It's Jax's kutte, you can hang it up next to your old man's." Tig said, smiling hopeful at me. "But John's kutte is hanging in a frame." I said confused. "Aye, not that old man, lass." Chibs interjected as he looked at Happy. "When you get back to my place hang it up next to mine. By the door." He said, the curve of his mouth twitching up ever so slightly, I would have missed it if I wasn't staring. I nodded as dad helped me put it on. All the men cheered in excitement as I wore it with pride, the bottom of the leather was partially faded from being worn continuously through the years. I inhaled deeply, savoring the cologne that was wrapped into the coils of his kutte. Warmth, pride, and love had enveloped practically all of my senses as I stood beside dad and the other men I called my family. Gratitude.} my mind raced as a car horn blared from in front of me. A hand yanked me out of the way before I had time to react. "Woah. Be more careful out here, it's dangerous. The street." A voice had pulled me from my shaking body. "I- sorry- I should have paid closer attention." I said as I looked up at the man for the first time since he pulled me away from my near death.

"Don't worry about it. Just keep your head on a swivel, huh?" He said as he turned to walk away from me. "Hey! You're a mayan right?- do you know EZ Reyes?" I asked. He turned his head slightly. "Don't know him well enough." He informed as he had walked away. I was confused at his words. Charming, san Bernardino, and Nevada were all civil, Yuma mayans should be more acquainted with santo padre. I brushed it off as I hopped on my bike and rode down into the small mayans clubhouse, the gate wide open, the lot was practically empty as I pulled up. I parked in front of the trailer off to the side as I stood and knocked onto the door, a dog started to bark but no one replied. I leaned against my bike for 30 minutes before I heard more bikes. Everyone pulled into the lot, to their parking spots as they slowly got off and stared me down curiously, weary. They all passed by, not sparing me a question or a confrontation as they all walked inside their clubhouse. A man stood along with a slightly taller one beside him, the same one I saw from this morning. "I got it- just go inside." The shorter one said as the other man huffed and stared daggers at me as he walked away. "Hey." He greeted. "Hi." I replied. "What're you doing here?" He asked. "Not- not that I didn't want to see you- just, why now?" He sighed. "Is now not a good time zeke? You're always in a good mood when I show up." I asked, confused. Slightly hurt at his dark demeanor.
He stared at me, his eyes widening slightly as he reached for my arm. "Jules, I'm sorry. I-it's always a good time to see you, of course it is. -shit is going down soon and it's not safe." He rushed out. A bike had started to pull into the lot, one I recognized almost immediately as I missed his presence. The bike got parked as he stood and walked over to me. "Chica!" He had laughed as I embraced him happily. "So this is where you've been hiding." I joked as EZ stared at the two of us. "Who said I'm hiding?" He asked, a soft smile on his face. "How are you holding up Marcus?" I asked as he smiled warmly at me. "Good, I'm good. And you?" He replied. "Well I got promoted in the family." I joked. "That's good to hear. You were always so intrigued by the club lifestyle, I'm glad chibs finally came to his senses and let you in, even if you still have some blinders on." He said as he pat my shoulder and was going to speak again. "So if we're all done taking this trip down memory lane." EZ interrupted. I hugged Alvarez once more as he went inside the clubhouse. We walked slowly in silence as he held open the door.
