Anxiously waiting (P14)

Dean's POV
Meeting

It's been two weeks and still nothing. Their trial will be happening in two days. After that we won't be able to interfere. 

Kai has been on edge lately saying something else is coming. It's getting us all anxious...

I've been busy with other packs, trying to collect evidence against Seth. However it's been difficult, all the evidence they had against him now points to Ezekiel. So what we've been doing now is trying to find people who can be witnesses for Scarlet and Xander.

I've met with people that knew Scarlet first, thinking it would be better to go with her, who is a social butterfly. Strangely enough, that wasn't the case.

"Something sketchy is seriously going on" Dana says aloud as we sit around the table.

"I feel like we're in Gotham city." Kai mumbles as he hugs his knees. "But I can't figure out who's Batman."  Arrio pats his head and then kisses it.

"I just can't believe that there wasn't even one person who was willing to testify for scarlet. So many that met up with her constantly" Arrio's mother shakes her head "denied it like if she was just some dust they had wanted to brush off."

"I never liked them anyways" Kai says "they all seemed like wusses since the moment I met them. Useless penguins."  Kai looks up at me "Have You heard from the Blood moon pack?"

I shake my head "nope, I haven't heard anything since he's left." I sigh "however there are rumors." I hold back my smile as I tell the rest "apparently the Alpha has been busy with finding evidence on that golem elder and -". I can no longer hide my smile with my next line "aaand he's also looking for a way to get rid of his mark."

I grin as Kai lifts his head with a smile. I look around and see Arrio's mother grinning. "That's good news hun".

"That's great Deany" Kai nods "We needed to hear that." He smiles at me "But don't let him off easily, make that bitch beg" Kai mind links me and winks.

"Now on other good news" Arrio pitches in "i found out which witch is in charge of  the prison they are in right now" he smiles at Kai. "It's Mrs. Hennessy " he grins "remember Ezekiel's friend.".

My smile falls as I see Kai's expresión. His eyes widen as the blood drains from his face . He begins to shake his head as he stares at Arrio "no" he begins "thats not good news"

"Why not?" Arrio asks rubbing his back.

"Scarlet never liked that woman" Our past Alpha adds. "She believed that she was behind all those murders."

"I thought Seth was?" I ask.

"That's what I'm trying to figure out" Kai puts his feet back on the ground and stands back straight, raising his pointer "either she was the one who had been murdering all those rogues in the past and then continued with those mate's, and just framed Seth ." He raises another finger "or she killed those rogues then ordered Seth to kill The Mates."

"Or" Arrio's father joins as Kai lifts his third finger "there's more to the story." Kai wiggles his fingers and nods.

We stay quiet as we ponder over the situation when suddenly "And what the fuck happened to Brittany!?" Kai exclaims slamming his fist on the table "how the hell did someone as basic as her escape!? There's no way she could've survived as a rogue for so long! We should've found her body by now!"
