Kai's POV

"Soooo basically Kai almost started a war?" This bitch. "Ow!" He whines. After  I softly smack him. He shows me a cute pout when all of sudden his face is hidden. Wow

"Only I'm allowed to see that cute face" his mate growls.

"Ok that's cute" I mumble . The only time Arrio gets jealous is when I talk about other guys body parts and  the way he shows it is by having sex with me. Maybe he doesn't feel like my face is cute enough to get jealous about. I let out a sigh and go back to our conversation "ok first of all, it was That golem who was asking for a war, I just let him know that I was ready for it. Secondly it's his fault that everyone hates his green ugly ass! Saying that he should watch his back was a nice thing to say to a piece of green puke like him!"

"It's all about the tone Kai" Arrio says which makes me stop in my walking spree, I turn to look at this Asshole who stupidly continues "you've been having this-"

"Attitude problem." I cut him off "yeah I remember you saying that we were going to talk about it earlier" Was the mate bond so blinding at the beginning that he didn't realize that I've always had an attitude problem. That attitude is me.

"That's not what I was going to say but if you wanna talk about that we should go to the guest room that Beta Nadine prepared for us." He reaches for My hand which I avoid. "Kai" The way he says my name irritates me. Like I'm some freaking child that was thrown to him and he was forced to take care of....

Someone with a damn "attitude problem". Have i always been that difficult? Is that why he didn't even try to live. Loki whines at my comment, which causes my mate to reach for me again. No. I slap his hand away and look into his eyes   "an attitude problem?" I ask.

"Kai. Please. Let me take your hand. You need my touch" he begs. At the corner of my eyes I see Isaiah pull Dean with him. I can feel Dean's eyes on me as he closes the door.  I'm backing away from Arrio, making sure he doesn't lay a hand on me. "Kai, please."

"Don't say my name." I answer. "If you're going to say it in that tone then don't say it at all".

He stops reaching for me and asks "in what way am I saying it" he sighs as if he's tired of my shit.

"Like you're done with me. Like you have to deal with me because we were forced to be together" his eyes widen at my reply and shakes his head. "Don't say anything. All you do is talk and say how you love me and I'm just stressed. But you don't know. You don't know how I really feel or why I'm feeling this way."

He sighs and takes a seat on the bed "ok fine. Tell me how you feel then."

I laugh at this , "see this is what I'm talking about .You treat me like I'm some kid who's just whining. You sigh every time I say something, like asking the moon goddess for patience"

"Kai-"

"You say 'ok fine' like as saying 'let him say what he wants so we can continue on more important things' as if what I'm saying means nothing to you." I shake my head at him as tears welled up. "Tell me the truth. What am I to you".

He stands up but doesn't reach for me. He just towers over me and stares at me "you are my mate" he says. That's not what I want to hear. I hate that damn word.

"So I am what the moon goddess gave you" I chuckle and turn away "that's all I am to you?"

"A mate is everything to a werewolf!" He shouts. "It's a gift from the moon goddess not just some random object she wanted to get rid of.  A gift  that she knew we would love and cherish the moment we see it."

"Ha!" I turn to look at him "the moment we see it? Oh please. You didn't even want me! You made Dean look into my schedule so you could reject me! " yeah i was pissed when I found that out.

"I was stupid Kai. It was just because I never had an interest in guys."

"Well doesn't that make it worse? You were forced to be gay by the moon goddess. All because she gave you me, the random object. The object that wasn't even supposed to exist."

"No no Kai. The moon goddess knows us more than we know ourselves, she does not see gender. She sees our hearts, our strength and our mindset. The physical means nothing to her, she is not blind like us."  He sits down again and continues "you are not a random object. And you were meant to be alive".

I shake my head "are you saying Seth's mate was meant to die? For me to be born." I walk around the bed and take a seat away from Arrio. "My parents weren't mates but they still had me. Seth needed a companion to ease his mind but that wasn't why Cristina chose Seth. She actually loved him."

Arrio's POV

She loved him? "She loved him so much that she abandoned her own kid for him. How is that possible when he wasn't even her mate... She chose Seth over her real mate. She abandoned him for Seth"

"How is that possible?" Did they not mate?

"Cause love is stronger than the mate bond" Kai answers . I stay quiet as i ponder over what he just said "do you love me?" He whispers.

I jump up and rush to him. I get on my knees in front of him and take his hands before he can object . "I love you. There's no one I would ever want But you. Even without the mate bond, I would still choose you."  I wrap my arms around his waist and hug him "please stop with these negative thoughts."

"It's so hard . So fucking hard." He cries out. "None of you know how I feel inside  and how hard it is to control it". He clings unto me as I feel my shirt become damp from his tears.

"Let us know then. How can we know if you keep it inside you. We are here for you and we will help you." It hurts so damn much to see him like this. He's hurting so damn much.

"You won't get it. None of you will understand the constant battle I'm fighting within myself." I pull away from him to see his face . "Because you all believe Zeke brainwashed me" My body freezes the moment he says his name. I fucking knew it. I knew that this was all happening because of him. "You're not correcting me" he glares at me.

I stand up and take a seat beside him, pulling him unto my lap. "Tell me. What is that battle?" He continues to sob , "I can wait as long as you want" I whisper, hugging him tighter.

About ten minutes go by before he calms down and speak. "When you met Zeke, it was already too late for him."

"Late? What's our mate talking about?" Axel asks as he listens.

"The moment I took that bracelet off, was when all my memories of him came back." Kai chuckles and sniffles "he wouldn't even look at me when he first took me in. Hardly even talk to me except to tell me the food was ready. It was Scarlet who was with me most of the time. she was the one who would play with me. Zeke was always scared of getting close to me." He sits up and looks at the ceiling "it wasn't till I turned 14 that he began to change."

"Change how?" I ask.

"He became the Zeke that you met. The possessive piece of shit that you hated." he wipes his tears as he continues. "It happened that morning when i went for breakfast. The moment i walked in, our eyes met and it was like something snapped in him. His face was of one who had found their mate".

"w-what?"

"That bracelet... that bracelet was a curse"
