His Beta. (P15)

Isaiah's POV
His office

It's been two weeks, three days, and five hours since I last saw my mate. I want to go see him so badly but I  first need to get rid of this mark before then. I've been trying to meet with the elders so I can get some information on it but they have had their hands full for awhile and aren't meeting anyone.

It so obvious that something bad is going on. Not one elder has left the palace since they took Scarlet and Xander. Rumours of the elders have been spreading through every clan.  Apparently their recent arguments have been making them dissolve.

I've been having my fair amount of arguments here with the Blue Crescent Pack. I guess Monica's father isn't happy about me kicking her out, which is no shocker there.

I wouldn't be surprised if he started a war with us. I'm going to be honest and say that I am afraid of that. I'm not sure if my pack would even fight with me. Then my boys, who would actually watch them?

Jancita who had been watching over the children left with Monica.  She was Monica's personal nanny. Well nanny is what they would call her but truth be told she was an omega slave. She was an elderly woman so when my boys would run from her I never got mad at her. It wasn't her job to begin with.

Also how was she supposed to keep watch of them? She had a limp and was partially blind. I'm not sure how she got that limp but I wouldn't doubt that it was due to abuse.

*knock knock*

"Come in." I order as I sniff to see who it is. The door swings open and enters my beta. "Whats up with that expression of yours." I stand up from my chair and walk towards her "Nadine, please don't bring me more bad news".

She bows her head causing her plantom hair to fall forward. "I'm sorry , I cannot fulfill that request". She raises her head and looks straight at me . I nod for her to continue "however, I do not only bring bad news."

"Come take a seat" i return to my seat as she takes one as well "Begin with the bad news."

"I've been informed that Mr. and Mrs Yates have been... Treated"  her face shows no emotions as she says this but the shake in her voice lets me know her true feelings.

Treated.. another way to say that they have begun with the injections. "There courtdate isn't till the fourth." I look down and check my calendar , shaking my head I say "that's in two days. How is this possible?"

"This warren ordered it. Elder Hennessy" Nadine explains as she sets a folder down. "It is unknown to the council. There are only three other elders that know of it. I still haven't come to know their names Alpha".

"When did the treatment begin?" I ask.

"He's informed me that they began the day after their arrival." She looks away as she continues "that is not all sir.  Apparently the other cell guards have been harrassing Mrs. Yates after every treatment. They have become very violent."

"Those pigs" I growl through gritted teeth. How dare they touch her! If Xander would know about this, he would rip them to shreds. "Where is Xander located?" I ask scared to hear the answer.

"They are beside eachother" she turns too look at me "they do these things in his presence." I growl at this. She bows her head and says "Alpha please forgive me" I begin to stop her as she continues "I promised to serve you with loyalty and perfection. However I am unable to do a simple task as bailing your dear cousin and his wife."

I place a hand on hers causing her to flinch at my feel. "Nadine, since the beginning I told you that perfection wasn't needed. I expect nothing but loyalty. Time and time again you have proved to me that you are someone I can trust. That is why I chose you as my Beta despite your background."  I lift my hand and she raises her head with a nod.
