'This was a common story trope!! Blacksmiths were caught in some mess like their shop were ransacked or blackmailed just before the main character would show up!'

I guess Kane has watched so many fantasy RPG movies to have this mindset. That is why he was confident he would find Zachary.

The confident masked man approached Zachary's shop and walked toward one of the employees.

"Excuse me, can you fix this sword?"

"Oh, for repairs? Of course, sir. We can do it immediate—"

"Hmm, do you guys know a guy named Zachary?"

Suddenly, the worker's expression changed.

"He's not here. Leave. We're not gonna provide you any service."

"Oh, okay."

Kane quietly turned around and walked away.

Since the workers were adamant about telling him, Kane became more convinced.

'I knew it! They forcefully took over Zachary's shop and replaced him!'

Since he felt it was dangerous if he continued to inquire, Kane approached a nearby food stall instead.

"Hmm... Give me that, Rainsleif Special Kebab. Yeah, nice. That must've been a solid bestseller."

The owner stared at him with a lousy look before heating his customer's food.

'Bestseller, my ass. It's just the cheapest.'

Upon receiving his food, Kane immediately leaned toward the shopowner in a mysterious way like he was gonna offer him a once-in-a-lifetime discount coupon.

"Have you heard about the blacksmith that was kicked from that shop?"

"Are you talking about Zachary? That was years ago. He wasn't kicked out. He sold his own shop. I heard he's currently in prison for gambling."

"W-WHAT?!"

The owner was taken aback as his customer just screamed straight at his ears.

"Why are you screaming? You're scaring my customers away."

"Oh, sorry. So, he's in prison?"

"Yeah. Usually, he's on Zolheim Correction Facility."

Kane immediately left upon hearing that. He finally connected that dots!

'They forced the old man to sell his shop and then imprisoned him so that no one would know the truth!'

Luckily, Kane already unlocked the Waypoint in the Zolheim Town Square, helping Kane explore Zolheim with ease.

In just a few minutes, Kane arrived at Zolheim Correction Facility.

"M-Master Kane!"

Spencer called him.

"Master Kane, I got the schedule for the Ground Exams. The earliest one will be tomorrow. Since we don't have time to prepare, I signed up for the next batch next week."

"What?! No, no, no. Just sign up for tomorrow. We don't have the time to wait!"

"B-But Master, we need to prepare..."

"Nah, it's okay. It's okay. We're already prepared, trust me."
