As a penniless idiot with stacks of broken items in his inventory, Kane knew he couldn't clear the Mavencrown Towers this way. Therefore, this dumbass resorted to sweet-talking Brahmian for another batch of free shit.
But Brahmian wasn't an idiot. He knew this guy wouldn't pay for it again! Hence, no one replied to his message, forcing Kane to change his antics.
[Kane: I'll pay you]
[Brahmian: How much?]
[Kane: 1,000 Gold per item]
[Brahmian: Show me your gold]
[Kane: Respect my privacy]
[Disconnected]
"Hey! What?!"
[Kane: Look, I have no gold right now. But look at this, once we finish this Quest from Presley, then we'll be having a shit ton of gold on our side!! This is just what you call investment!]
[Brahmian: Lending items is one thing but finding a good Level 7 Equipment Set is just ridiculous]
[Kane: Just give me any LVL 7 you have as long as it's decent]
[Brahmian: Such a hassle. You don't even have money!!]
[Kane: I told you. This is an investment! You're investing in my skills, and it will later bloom into something big]
[Brahmian: Are you from a Pyramid Scheme? You sound one right now]
[Kane: I'm serious!]
[Brahmian: Fine, I'll accept this obvious scam. But you must join me at my Quest sometime later.]
[Kane: Your Quest?]
[Brahmian: Yup. It's a simple resource-gathering Quest. I need a Bodyguard to go there since I still need to activate the Fast-Travel waypoint to that Village]
Kane paused for a moment.
'Hmmm... this doesn't seem too hard.'
[Kane: Alright. Then we have a deal]
[Brahmian: Yup. I'll give you the items when we meet.]
[Disconnected]
After that, Kane swiped his other conversations, including Spencer's. But there was still no response.
In the real world, Kane was actually inside Roberto's House, studying the Cookbook he found in Roberto's safe.
"Ugh, this is harder than I thought. I should've just waited for him. I can't even understand some of these. Some of the Dishes were from the Age of Enlightenment. I already used half of my salary for this crap."
Kane allocated this day simply to successfully make a dish from the Cookbook, which was why he had a bag of groceries with him.
Some recipes were not working since most pages were torn off or too old that it was no longer legible. Some were even badly overwritten to the point Kane started doubting its texts.
Beside Kane was a bunch of stained stoves covered in black stacked in the sink, proof of his countless attempts that ended in vain. Kane obviously cooked a lot already, mostly burning them all. After wasting the entirety of his resources, he finally gave up and just wanted to make juice for now.
