KRRTTT!
Juanito woke up at the sound of the light bulb flickering. Beside him were BM and Melodia, sleeping while leaning on each other since they offered their room to let Ms. Perry and the Marias sleep.
The rooms were composed of two double-decker beds, but Bannermanner had to jam his shield in between top beds to maximize the space. Thankfully, his solutions worked that a total of 35 people managed to sleep overcrowdedly in the room.
But it wasn't enough that the rest had to sleep in the hallway, including Maria Prime, the rest of her sisters, along with BM, Melodia, and Juanito.
During this time, the Paragons entered something that was called Sleeping State.
Sleeping State could only be available for Players using VR capsules. It could be activated during important waiting events in a quest such as these.
Since Sparrowman said that they would arrive in Miranda Kingdom around 100 mins, the Players could do everything they wanted until that time comes. But for impatient Players, Sleeping State was a method in which people could skip time to proceed to the next scene.
To encourage the Players to enter Sleeping State, sleeping would boost the players' stats, including the XP gained in the succeeding battles. Since the effect depends on how long they entered the Sleeping State, players would immediately run to their quarters to enter Sleeping State to maximize the effects.
Upon entering the Sleeping State, the VR Capsule would release a sleeping gas that also forced the players to sleep in real life. The VR capsule was made to continuously monitor the person's health and wake up the Player if something bad happened.
When all the Players in the area entered Sleeping State, the game would fast forward to the next event with all the sleeping bonuses retained. For example, the Paragons in this quest could sleep for a maximum of 100 mins. Once all of the players entered Sleeping State, time would fast forward that those 100 mins could become only 5 mins in real life.
But...
Fast forwarding the time was only possible if everyone actually slept.
Juanito was still dizzy upon waking up. He tried to walk around to look for other players, but all the quarters were still closed.
Juanito went past the sleeping BM, Melodia, and the Marias while trying to resist getting swayed by the ship's shaking.
After struggling for a few minutes, Juanito managed to reach the door at the end of the hallway. Not even fully awake, the drowsy Juanito opened the door and saw a black hooded man with red masks standing on the flight of stairs.
"Uhhh... who are yo—"
That masked man aimed its finger at Juanito's chest.
BAGUM!
"KAAAAAGGGHHHH!!'
Juanito went flying through the hallway as he was shot by a bolt of lightning from the masked man.
BOG!
[Juanito Status: Fractured]
Juanito slammed and rolled to the ground multiple times before stopping.
BOG! BOG! BOG!
The sound of Juanito slamming on the floor woke BM, Melodia, and the Marias. The black-cloaked man entered the hallway before firing a bolt of lightning at them.
Buzzzzzz!
[Holy Barrier]
Melodia immediately placed a barrier that blocked the hallway. It saved them and the rooms behind the barrier, but not the ones in front as lightning radiated to the other rooms. Most of them got zapped that they quickly barged outside their rooms and saw the black magician.
