Title: "Ten-Minute Break"
Materials: Acrylic on canvas
Process: Photoshop to compile various photographs of myself; layers of acrylic to build up mysterious moments of shallow beauty
Size: 36*48 inches
This work is centered around the concept of shallow beauty. As teenagers and young adults, we've all been through the self-obsessed phase in which we are constantly worried about our appearances. The frame consists of six figures gathered together in a bathroom stall during the ten-minute break between classes to complete one singular task: makeup.
Note: If you look closely though, the reflections don't match up. Perhaps suggesting the lack of truth and transparency.
