Yoongi's POV
*Flashback*
7 / June / 2010
Seoul - 10:24 am
Already, the day was bright and sunny.
And already, a 17 years old boy had the biggest smile on his young face as his two legs sprinted like their lives depended on it towards a smooth birch wooden door that was located at the end of this plain white corridor.
With one fast-beating heart, Yoongi breathed in a lung full of air which failed to lessen down his excitement but still smells of antiseptic mixed with soap and cleanliness which he has already gotten used to.
Of course, he has...he visited the hospital for 2 years and was forced to leave his studies behind just to be taught like a 14 years old kid when he should already be trying his luck getting into a nice college for all this.
But Yoongi doesn't regret it because once that wooden door slides open like a dream he never knew would come true, his youthful eyes landed on his mother in a wheelchair with the biggest gummy smile on her wrinkling face.
Her precious smile has a different warmth to it than the one she would use to grant him every visit.
"My son, Yoongi."
"Mom!" With the stinging of hot tears already forming at the back of his eyes, Yoongi ran towards his mother and crashes onto his weak knees just to hold her soft hands with broken sobs falling from his thin quivering lips.
"Don't cry my baby, you know I hate it when you cry like this." Shaking her head in disapproval, Mother slowly leaned forward and give her son a loving peck on the crown of his head before resting against the wheelchair.
"I-I'm s-sorry." The black-haired boy squeezed lightly onto his mother's thin hand before lifting his chin up to watch how an identical gummy smile forms on her pink healthy lips. "I missed you mother."
"I missed you too Yoongi yah." Becoming flustered by her son's rare confession, the middle-aged woman broke out into small happy giggles before her boba like eyes soon started searching for a man. "Now where is that idiot? Don't tell me he's late again, y'know I still remember whe-"
"My love!" The room's hospital door flying open once again, a tall suited man entered with a heaving chest and ragged breathing as if he has been running just like his own son's horrible state a few minutes ago.
"Min Jae, you moron!" She yelped out with a cranky face but soon gasped in surprise after noticing the bouquet of Daffodils in her husband's sweating hand. "Who are these for you cheesy bastard?"
"Who else? You." Father also smiled brightly as he nonchalantly walked over and leaned over to give his lovely wife a quick peck on the cheeks before kneeling down with the reaching out bouquet.
"Yoongi yah, do you know what Daffodils symbolise?" Yoongi's mother asked with a soothing voice while accepting the bouquet with flushed pink cheeks.
"No, I don't." The 17 years old shooked his head from left to right, confused as to why his mother has asked such a meaningless question.
"It means rebirth and a new beginning." The woman's features softened as her husband only smiled fondly while Yoongi was startled from how his mother has melodically spoken those words which somehow left an impact on all of them.
"Let's go home now, shall we?"
Home.
' A new beginning and rebirth of something beautiful after years of sadness and part ways. '
