"so I'll watch your life in pictures like I used to watch you sleep"

"Evelyn!" Jack shouted from their room upstairs, "Evelyn!" He shouted again. He was quiet for a few seconds, "Evelyn come upstairs right now!" She laughed at her boyfriend and put her phone down on the couch before making her way upstairs.

She poked her head into the door, "You beckoned?" She saw Jack's head pop out of the covers,

"Come lay with me."

"Are you sleeping? It's one in the afternoon." Evelyn laughed, entering the bedroom,

"No. I'm not sleeping." Jack stated, "You're not here." he smiled, flashing his teeth. Evelyn blushed and hurried over to their bed.

"Stop being cute Jack Avery." she crawled under the covers and cuddled up next to Jack. He put his arm around her and pulled her closer. She laid her head on his chest, she felt his hand come up and play with her hair.

She woke up about an hour later. She opened her eyes to see jack laying on his side, facing her. His eyes were shut, and breathing was even. "He's so peaceful," she thought to herself. She watched Jack for a few minutes, admiring the soft curve of his nose, the faint pink blush across his cheeks and his long eyelashes.

She watched his eyes flutter open, and a smile spread across his face. "What are you doing?" He asked her, sleep laced in his voice.

"I'm just looking at you." she smiled at him, putting a hand on his cheek.

"Creepy." he laughed, rolling on his back and stretching his arms above his head.

Evelyn scrolled through Instagram after the boys left her apartment. She was humming through her new song and lightly stalking Jack's Instagram page. She saw how he smiled with his sisters, and with the boys. She felt her heart warm when she scrolled past pictures of him and Lav. He had so much love for her.

She stood up from the couch and stretched. She walked back over to her piano she sat down and let her fingers dance over the ivory-coloured keys. She sang through her song, getting to the bridge she let her feelings carry the rest,

So I'll watch your life in pictures like I used to watch you sleep

and I'll feel you forget me like I used to feel you breathe

and I'll keep up with our old friends just to ask them how you are

hope it's nice where you are

Her fingers played over the keys,

and I hope the sun shines

and it's a beautiful day

and something reminds you

you wish you had stayed

you can plan for a change in the weather and time,

but I never planned on you changing your mind.

a smile spread across her face. She rolled into the chorus for a final time, before finishing the song. She tilted her head back and let her hands fall to her side. She had done it. She played the song three more times, getting the chords and arpeggios planned out in the right order. She picked up the guitar from the corner of her music room and played the piece Corbyn had written into a microphone to record it. She made a light drum loop and played the backing guitar recording. She played the piano alongside the recordings. It was perfect. She sang her heart out, one last time to the music.

She reached for her phone once she was done to text the boys, "It's done."

she called her manager the second she sent the text, "Janet." she spoke into the phone, "I need you to add another song to my set."
