Evelyn stood in shock as Jack stared at her. The crowd screamed her name just like she had always dreamed, but she stood, time frozen, staring at the one person she didn't want at this show. She shook her head and laughed as the band rolled into their next song.

Evelyn would rank this show as one of her worst. But, according to her fans, the media, and her manager, this was the best Evelyn has ever performed. Her songs meant something now. Singing them, in front of Jack changed things. They were no longer just words she had written on a page, they were everything she had ever wished to say to him. Finally, the band had rolled into the second to last song, a song she and Jack had written together when she was still in school. It was a love story. The pair had written it when they felt like it was them against the world. Evelyn sat on a stool that had been placed centre stage for her. Most of the house lights were off and only one spotlight remained shining on her. She picked up her guitar from the stand and started strumming some chords loosely. "LA! How are we doing!" she shouted,

The crowd roared in response,

"We are about to slow it down a bit for these last couple songs, I hope that's okay." She spoke into the microphone.

The crowd cheered,

"I wanted to thank you all for coming out tonight, for supporting me, and the other artists here and better yet, supporting the Healthy Hearts Foundation." The crowd cheered,

"Alright Los Angeles, this is a song I wrote with someone a few years back," She paused letting the crowd respond, "It's a love song," She continued, "It means a lot to me, and I hope you all love this one as much as I do." There were whistles coming from the crowd. "This is Mary's Song"

Jack's eyes went wide when Evelyn announced the song she was going to play next. The pair had written it about two and a half years ago at three in the morning. Evelyn had a love song due for an assignment, and Jack was more than excited to help her write it.

He heard the familiar chord pattern being played and couldn't help but reminisce about that night.

Evelyn sat at the piano In their bedroom, tinkering with some chords, humming a couple of different melodies, nothing really sticking. Jack had been downstairs goofing off with Daniel and Corbyn, listening to his girlfriend try and get through a music assignment. It was about two-thirty in the morning when the three of them retired to their bedrooms.

"Hey babe," Jack smiled at his girlfriend as he walked in the room,

"Hi, Jack." She said, not taking her eyes off of the piano. She was playing the chords beautifully. This was one of the perks of living in a house of musicians, the house was almost always filled with live melodies. Of the four of them, Evelyn's were always the best. As a classically trained pianist, she had a knack for chord progressions.

"How's the songwriting coming along?" He asked, sitting on the bench beside her. Evelyn shrugged her shoulders and stopped playing.

"The usual, I have a melody and a chord sequence that I like, but I can't come up with lyrics." She bent down to rest her head on Jack's shoulder, "I'm not sure what I want to say." Jack nodded his head,

"You know babe," He said, "a song doesn't always have to be personal, why don't you just tell a love story?" he finished. Evelyn nodded her head,

"I like that idea," she said, "want to help?" Jack eagerly agreed, he loved to write with Evelyn, everything was always so organic. It was like they could read each other's minds. Mary's Song was written in about twenty minutes. It started as an innocent love story they were making up on the spot, but it turned into so much more. It was a story that captured the couple's love in its entirety.

As Evelyn sang the last verse, Jack was in a trance. He felt his whole body warm-up, She was still the most beautiful girl in the room. He felt his cheeks grow warm every time they made eye contact.

"Oh my my my" Evelyn sang into the microphone. Her voice was the sweetest thing Jack had ever heard.

"Alright LA!" She shouted into her mic, Jack knew this last song was going to be good. He couldn't help but cheer and whistle at the top of his lungs.

"This song is a new song, I only finished it yesterday." Evelyn walked over to her piano, the crowd was cheering.

"Before I get into it, I would like to thank the band." The crowd cheered, "They have learned so many songs over the last few weeks, they're absolutely incredible," Evelyn was playing some chords on the grand piano that was sat on top of the stage, "Give it up for the band!" The crowd cheered, Evelyn had always known how to hype people up. The band had left the stage, and Evelyn now sat alone at the piano. It was her and the music,

"Like I was saying," she said, "This song is brand new." She paused to play a run on the keys, "I normally don't play with a backing track," she laughed, "but I was not about to make the band learn this in a night." She laughed,"I had some really close friends of mine help me with this song, and I'd like to thank them," She continued to play, "LA, please, give it up for Corbyn Besson, Daniel Seavey, Jonah Marais, and Zach Herron," Jack's eyes went wide as he looked between his friends. Their eyes were nearly bulging out of their skulls, yet they had the biggest smiles on their faces.

"This LA," she played into the piano, "is Last Kiss."

I'm using T swizzle songs as Evelyns songs because early Taylor Swift gives me good vibes.
