"and I roll my eyes and you pull me in
I'm not much for dancing but for you I did"

Evelyn was laying on Jack's chest, nothing but a couple of thin pieces of fabric between them.

"You're beautiful Ev." jack said, stroking her hair behind her ear. A faint blush made its way to the girl's cheeks and she buried her face deeper into Jack's chest. "I love you so much, it's crazy." he continued.

"I love you too Jack, so so much." She smiled and pushed herself up onto her elbows. Jack smiled and propped himself up,

"As much as I love being here with you, and seeing you like this, I'm hungry," Jack stated. Evelyn rolled her eyes at the boy and sat up, grabbing his shirt from last night off the floor. She buttoned the shirt up and hopped off of the bed. Jack pulled on a pair of sweatpants and walked over to his girlfriend. "I noticed that eye roll babe." he said, letting his hands fall to her waist, "If I wasn't so hungry I'd take you back to bed." Evelyn rolled her eyes and let out a small laugh. Jack pulled her in and pressed his lips against hers.

The pair walked downstairs, half-dressed to make pancakes for Jack. The boy was tasked with pulling ingredients out of the fridge, while Evelyn grabbed the appliances. Noticing Evelyn standing on her tiptoes trying to reach for a bowl, Jack snuck up behind her, put his hands around her waist and spun her around so she was facing him. He moved backwards, and grabbed her hands, pulling her closer to him. "What are you doing Jack?" Evelyn asked,

"We, my love, are dancing." He said, trying to get her to do a spin.

"I don't dance Jack," she stated blatantly,

"For me you do." he smiled at her and gave his girlfriend a spin before bringing her closer.

"Only for you Jack Avery, only for you."

"Dude that sounds dope!" A voice shouted from Evelyn's entryway

"Jonah?" Evelyn stopped playing the piano, "What are you doing here? How did you get in?" she shouted from the other room,

"I wanted to work on the song with you. So, I came over and walked in" He said, poking his head in the room, "Hi Corbyn. Ev, you should really lock that. You don't know what creeps might be around here." Jonah started pulling up a chair.

"Right?" Corbyn added, "I just walked in here yesterday!" Evelyn shot death glares at the boys who walked into her apartment.

"Also," Jonah started, "Zach is coming over."

"What?" Evelyn asked, "Why?"

"He wanted to work on the song. I think he's coming with Dan later." Evelyn squinted her eyes at Jonah,

"Who's next? Is Jack coming too?" She replied sarcastically.

"No." Jonah said, obviously missing the point, "that would be crazy."

"Right," Evelyn said, "And you just waltzing into my apartment without warning isn't."

"Corbyn's here too!" Jonah pointed a finger at Corbyn, who was videotaping the conversation,

"Corbyn knocked!" Evelyn shouted,

"Yeah, man." Corbyn stated proudly, "I knocked." Evelyn stared at Jonah for a few seconds before they started laughing.

Evelyn offered the two boys food and coffee to which they gladly accepted. She put some toast in the toaster and directed the boys to the Jam. The two were happily munching on their toast and strawberries, joking about god knows what when a knock came on the door. Evelyn got up and opened it, still in her pyjamas. She greeted Daniel and Zach before walking over to Jonah and Corbyn. "See?" she said, gesturing to the newcomers, "That is how you do it."

They ate breakfast and chatted before moving back to Evelyn's designated music room. She and Corbyn showed the boys the song in full with the guitar part.

"that's really good Ev", Zach started, "what's next?"

"Well, I need to finish this verse and then the bridge." Zach nodded his head,

"This is about Jack right?" he asked,

"yes, this is about Jack." She confirmed. He let out a chuckle before saying,

"Remember when I came over and I walked in on you and Jack making out in the kitchen?" he bent down a bit, starting to laugh even harder, "He said you guys were making pancakes, but there wasn't even any pancake batter." Evelyn blushed at the memory,

"What? Where was I?" Daniel asked looking confused, "I lived there too, I would have known about pancakes." Corbyn nodded his head, agreeing with Daniel before adding,

"Plus! I know what they sound like when they do that stuff! I would have remembered this!" Evelyns eyes went wide,

"Corbyn!" she shouted,

"What? Your room was  right next to mine, it's- Ouch!" Evelyn went over and hit Corbyn over the head.

"If you must know it was the morning after Valentine's Day. You and Daniel said, and I quote, 'I am not staying with these two tonight. I do not need to be subjected to chronic baby-making'"

Jonah and Zach started laughing, "chronic baby-making?"Jonah choked out, "which one of those two said that?"

Evelyn laughed at the memory of Corbyn leaving with an overnight bag, "It was Corbyn."

After a few minutes of laughter, they got down to work.

They spitballed a few ideas, bouncing funny lyrics, sad lyrics, random words that didn't make any sense before Evelyn suggested the next couple lines, "how about," she started, "Something like,

And then I roll my eyes and you pull me in

I'm not much for dancing but for you I did

"oooh!" Zach's eyes went wide "and then how about something like"

because I love your something doing something

and I love how you do this very often

"I like the idea, but not the words," she said.

"What are some things you liked about Jack?" Daniel asked,

"Well," she started, "I liked how he did his hair, and how he smiled, and how he shook my dad's hand the first time they met. Jack was nearly shitting himself." She paused, "I love how he walked with his hands in his pockets or the times he'd just kiss me when I was ranting about school or work." She smiled and look at the piano keys,

because I love your handshake, meeting my father

I love how you walk with your hands in your pockets

"yeah!" Daniel said, "What if then, we build off of that into something like this," Daniel bit his bottom lip and started playing a chord progression, tying the verse into the second chorus.

"That sound's great!" Evelyn exclaimed, getting excited about this song now, more than ever.
