He often woke up to Scott placing feather light kisses on his shoulder, moving up his neck, to behind his ear. It made him smile as he rolled over to face him, threading his fingers through Scott's hair as he kissed him.
It was a morning routine for them.
And on the off chance that he wasn't woken up like that, Mitch would be grumpy until Scott kissed him, on the lips then forehead, lingering there while he slid Mitch a cup of coffee.
Truth be told, Mitch didn't know there were so many way to surprise someone until they started dating.
Scott would often surprise him with kisses, and he loved every minute of it.
-------
The first time was when they were walking back to their car from a party. It started to rain, and not just any rain, it was a torrential downpour. A soak you to the bone downpour.
Mitch groaned. It was just their luck to be stuck in this when they still had multiple blocks to walk. Scott didn't seem to mind though, and pulled them under an awning. Mitch was shivering slightly, already drenched.
"Think we can make it?" Mitch asked as he stared down the street in the direction their car was.
"I'm sure you could try love, but I think our best bet is to wait for it to let up a little."
Mitch nodded and started rubbing his arms, trying to create some kind of heat to stop his shivering. He went to move some of his hair that was now plastered to his face when Scott's finger hooked his belt loop and he pulled him in.
Mitch had never been kissed in the rain before.
He can't say he didn't mind it when his fingers went to run through Scott's wet hair, the warmth from his body creeping into his cold one. He always wondered how he stayed so warm.
When Scott's arm tightened around his waist, he forgot why he hated the rain in the first place.
-------
Of course, there were moments when they couldn't keep their hands off each other. Scott always seemed to surprise him with a kiss then, pushing him into the wall, table, couch, bed, wherever they may be.
This time, Scott had just walked in the door and he went to greet him, but he was quickly grabbed and spun around. His back hit the door and his lips parted in a gasp. Scott used that to his advantage. Mitch didn't mind though, threading his fingers through the blonde hair and he tilted his head, angling and deepening the kiss in one swift movement.
This kiss was pure, raw, passion, filled with desire and need.
They had to break apart for oxygen, but Mitch didn't give them much time. He flipped them around, Scott's back now against the door, and captured his lips again, fingers already fast at work on the buttons of his shirt.
-------
Mitch would often fall asleep on the couch, curled up next to him, with some movie in the background as the beat of Scott's heart slowly lulled him to sleep.
Scott would wake him up, smiling as he grumbled at him. Mitch couldn't keep the tiny smile from his face as Scott pressed a tiny kiss to his nose, picking him up bridal style and carrying him to their bed. He pressed more kisses to his cheek, forehead, and nose. Mitch thought he kissed his eye lids, but he wasn't sure if that was a dream or not. He drifted off as Scott pulled him closer and placed a final kiss on the top of his head.
It happened too many times to count, but Mitch was still surprised every time. He had never been treated with this much love and care before.
-------
The fourth kiss happened when they were at home, after their third date. Unless you go by Scott's definition of a date, the it was their fifth. But to Mitch, it was their third official date.
They had just stepped inside, both wearing stupid grins in their faces. Mitch was hanging his jacket on the rack when Scott came up behind him, wrapping his arms around him and nuzzling his face into his neck. Mitch failed miserably at trying to hide his smile. He spun around in his arms, smiling and staring at each other. You probably could've put their picture in a hallmark card it was so cheesy.
"Mitch? Let's watch a movie." He stepped away and Mitch pouted.
"Scott!" He grumbled as Scott chuckled and kept walking towards the living room. He reluctantly followed him and squealed when Scott grabbed his hand, pulled him towards him, connecting their lips.
He'd be lying if he said his body wasn't buzzing every time they kissed.
He'd be lying if he said his skin didn't feel like it was on fire when their bodies were touching.
He'd definitely be lying if he said he didn't initiate more, and that they didn't get to watch the movie until much later.
-------
Mitch loved that Scott liked to surprise him with kisses.
Pulling him in when they were moving around the kitchen, trapping him against the counter.
Placing little kisses where ever he could reach when they were just lazing around.
When he could feel a kiss being placed on his head when Scott thought he was asleep.
How he would whisper into kisses across his skin.
Pressing kisses to his collarbones, down to his hipbones and thighs.
But what Mitch loved most, was when he got to surprise the older man with kisses.
Grabbing him by his tie and pulling him down for a quick kiss.
Pressing giggly ones to his lips.
Stretching up and stealing one when they were walking down the street.
Cutting him off in the middle of a sentence.
Yes, his favorite thing by far was their surprise kisses. Their tiny way of saying I love you.
