Certainty (A Bucky Barnes Fanfic)

We have a complete fanfic! Thank you to everyone who read along with me, and thank you to my newcomers!! I really hope you enjoy my little story. I have a few things to make your reading experience as fun as possible, but before we get into that, I wanted to express that Sam Wilson and Anthony Mackey deserve the absolute world. I am so excited that another Black Marvel character gets his spotlight. I hope that he continues to be EQUALLY APPRECIATED with the beloved broken white boy that is Bucky Barnes.

Themes: This fanfic strives to tackle real struggles in a way that is not triggering to anyone. There are times and places for diving into dark and real things, but that didn't fit my vision for this book. So there is only moderate language, ~spice~, and violence. Bucky and my OC Shamara have severe PTSD and various resulting mental health struggles. That being said, I keep the discussions around the more severe effects or the kinds of harassment they endured limited, as I know that can be triggering for people. The main themes of this work are how healing looks different depending on who you are, love is found in your darkest wounds, and certainty is a choice.

My Writing Style: My writing style is a little different from most fanfics; I prefer to write the scenes we don't see. So, the in-betweens of travel and rest and hanging out. This how I could turn six episodes into forty chapters. I strive to dive in deep, have quality slow burn, and a story worth telling, even if it's "just a fanfic." I love good angst, but I also love happy endings and fluff. Oh, and healthy relationships are a must for me.

Character List:

Shamara Arousi, a Palestinian Christian who was taken hostage by the Israeli government when she was twelve years old. The government loaned her out for training with the terrorist organization Hydra. By the time the Avengers took down Hydra, Shamara was a deadly sniper for the Israelis, kept controlled and powerful by constant sedation. She Blipped, returned to a chaotic world, and escaped to New York City.
