Damiano's POV:
I walked downstairs and met Cara halfway down the stairs. She ever so nicely shoulder-checked me in the shoulder where I was shot a few weeks ago.
"Jesus." I mumbled.
"Where are you going dressed like that?" my little sister asked. I was wearing grey slacks, a white button up, and some leather brown oxford shoes.
"I'm picking up Bella to take her to her family's restaurant, Il Ristorante Antico. Do you want me to bring back any dessert from there?" I asked Cara. She had a thoughtful look on her face before shaking her head.
"No just enjoy your date. Tell Bella I said hi." she yelled as she ascended the staircase.
I made my way out to my car and quickly got in and turned the air on to usher the hot summer air out on the car. I found the hot summer heat unbearable and frankly disgusting. I promptly made my way to the Marino household to pick up Bella. Today we were celebrating our six month anniversary.
When I got to Isabella's house there were a couple extra cars indicating that Andre's boyfriend and Alessio's girlfriend were probably here. I got out of the car and walked to the front door and knocked. As soon as I finished rapping on the wood the door swung open and revealed my beautiful girlfriend. She was dressed in a lacy navy blue dress with bell sleeves. She was sporting a pair of black ballet flats. She looked breathtaking, but then again, she always did.
"Are you ready?" I asked her. She smiled and nodded her head. I grabbed her hand and walked her to the car. After I opened and closed the car door for her I ran around the side and got in so we could go.
I began driving to the restaurant, which wasn't too far. On the way there we talked about trivial things like going back to school and our remaining two weeks of summer vacation. When we got to the restaurant it was pretty full, which was the usual, but thankfully a table was always open for the Marino's.
We made our way to the back of the restaurant where the empty table was and took a seat. Bella was probably as hungry as I because she didn't even look at the menu, but I think she probably had the thing memorized.
"What are you going to get?" I asked her. Her eyes gleamed when she responded.
"I'm going to get the carbonara. What about you?"
"I think I'm going to get spaghetti alla puttanesca." I told her, which probably wasn't a surprise because I get it all the time. Spaghetti alla puttanesca is a spaghetti dish with tomatoes, olives, capers, garlic, and olive oil. Which means that it's absolutely delicious. The waiter came and quickly took our order.
"Bella?"
"Yes?" she responded in a dragged out questioning tone.
"Let's go to the lake for a swim tomorrow." I suggested.
"I don't know Damiano. Last time we went swimming there were horseflies there." It was true and I had honestly forgotten about that. In the past couple weeks a swarm of horse flies had moved into the area, and sort of ruined the lake.
"What if we try a different lake?"
But that's our lake." she reminded me.
"I know what we could do. We can drive up to Rhode Island and walk the rocky beaches. I know you love that state."
"I would like that. We could also go to Massachusetts since it isn't too far. I could show you some things from when I was younger." When Bella suggested this I wasn't really surprised. Massachusetts held her childhood memories, and the memories of her mother. I know her mother took her away for a good reason, but Mrs. Marino should have understood that Giovanni wouldn't have forced Bella to be with someone she didn't want to be with. Giovanni, Bella's father, wanted Bella and I to date. My father told me that he and Giovanni never would have forced us to be together if we didn't like each other.
The waiter came and set down our dishes in front of us. The two of us dug it to the entrees in front of us. I'll be honest, I think Bella and I both love food too much to talk when eating. We scarfed down our food and then ordered a good amount of cannolis, so we could take some home with us.
I paid and then we walked outside. The restaurant was beside this small pond that had fairy lights surrounding it and koi fish in the pond. Bella and I walked hand in hand around the pond. Words didn't even need to be said. We could communicate wordlessly.
I truly believe that Isabella Marino is my soulmate.
Isabella's POV:
We were walking around the koi pond beside Il Risotrante Antico. Damiano and I were just looking at each other, but somehow we were still communicating. I could see the love in his eyes.
I truly believe that Damiano Messanelli is my soulmate. He's the rest of my life.
