Hermione's POV // august 26th
"MIONE STOP DOING YOUR HAIR IT'S TIME TO GO"
It's finally the start of year 2 in Hogwarts, Wren and Draco had stayed over for the last month of break again
Draco's father had been... well let's just say he turned up on our doorstep battered so we of course let him stay
Wren couldn't stay in her house because her parents had gone to Manhattan to see her family there
"YOU CAN WAIT TILL WE'RE DONE BLAISE" I shouted back down the stairs
"alright... done"
"Great, let's go" I grabbed her hand and navigated out of my room and to the entrance hallway
"your 12 why do you need to be looking all fancy to go to Diagon alley?" Draco asked as we walked inside
"correction, 12 and three quarters"
he rolled his eyes "Yeah, still 12"
"are we flooing?" Wren asked my parents
"yes, Blaise you go first then wren then Draco then Hermione and we'll go afterward"
Blaise walked toward the fireplace and took a handful of Floo powder before disappearing in the fireplace, Wren did the same but my parents stopped Draco before he could
"your father will be in Diagon alley waiting for you, he sent an owl" Draco's face dropped but he nodded nevertheless, then copied what my brother and friend had done
"Hermione we know that Draco doesn't want to see his father alone so can you stay with him?"
"of course father"
"Alright, take the floo powder, we'll meet you outside flourish and blots after you got your books"
I took the floo powder and copied the three before me, ending up in the public Diagon alley fireplace where Draco was the only one there
"where's Blaise and Wren?" I asked dusting off my sooty clothes
"they went to Scribbulus, Inkwood needed a new quill"
I nodded "wait, we need to go to flourish and blots,we need to find that book"
we walked towards the very busy shop
"I still don't understand why we're doing this, we don't like them remember?" he reminded
"your the one who told me about all this and I rather don't want everyone in the school to get murdered Draco"
he rolled his eyes as we walked inside and up the twirling staircase to the upper floor where the books about animals were
"start looking over there- oh and you call me nosy" I noticed he was watching what was happening below from the balcony
"Harry Potter?" god he always gets so much attention "nice big smile harry, together you and I make the front page" the front page? are you kidding me?
"ladies and gentlemen what an extraordinary moment this is. When young harry stepped into flourish and blots this morning to purchase my autobiography, magical me" they started clapping, does NO ONE see how much of a fraud this idiot is? "which incidentally is currently celebrating its 27th week atop the daily prophet bestseller list, he had no idea he would in fact be leaving" he passed him a big set of books "with my entire, collected works... free of charge"
ISN'T HE RICH???
"c'mon we don't need to see a load of people fawning over this douche, I think I saw the book on that shelf there"
we walked halfway down the stairs and picked up the book we knew would have all the answers
~Nothing But Snakes by Antoinette Wright~
"yep... Page 340 there" I pointed at the right one
"let's get him back for last year" he ripped the page out and walked down the rest of the steps with me following
"bet you loved that didn't you Potter" Draco spat
"famous Harry Potter can't even go to a book shop without making the front page" I mocked
"Leave him alone" the smallest and only Weasley girl tried stepping up
"oh look Potter, got yourself a girlfriend" I sniggered beside him but stopped when Lucius walked into the shop
"Draco what the fuck" I whispered as we stepped back onto the stairs to get out of his dad's way
"Don't ask me, I don't know"
I ignored the whole encounter by reading a book I picked up
huh, so if I added rubberwood to a certain amount of scuttle juice I would get- Parkinson? I looked up and put my book down, this will be more interesting
"fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself" Lucius looked offended, I had to stifle a laugh at his expression
"and you must be... miss Parkinson?" he looked at me and Draco, we nodded while glaring at her
"yes, Draco's told me all about you... and your parents" ok Lucius you don't need to mention- "muggles aren't they?" and he did it, great "let me see" he turned toward the redheads "red hair, vacant expressions, tatty second-hand book you must be... the Weasleys" he picked the smallest girls book up, and placed another book next to it
"he said that way better than you did Draco" I muttered smirking at him, he directed his glare at me instead of the people his dad was taunting, I ignored the affair with father Weasley and father malfoy until I noticed the platinum blond put the two books back in the girl's cauldron
"Draco, what was that your dad put in her cauldron?" I gestured towards the redhead
"Shh'
"ok, don't answer me then" I huffed when he decided to ignore me and address our classmates as soon as his father left the shop
"see you at school" he made his signature eyebrow raise and walked out
"bye weasels, potter" I smirked and followed the two blonds outside
When I found them the older one was scolding the younger one... should I save him? Nah... what! Don't look at me like that, he's annoying
