Hermione's POV

"I thought we would actually have the last week of summer without seeing them"

We just walked into the quidditch world cup finals stadium, we didn't stay with all the other riff-raff that was here, so our tent was much closer to the pitch and away from the rest of the people.

Draco, his father, and I were walking up the staircase

(the others had left earlier than us and I had met up with Draco)

we spotted the Weasleys, Parkinson, and Potter

great, just great

"Blimey dad, how far up are we?" we heard the voice and directed our footsteps toward it

"well put it this way; if it rains, you'll be the first to know" Draco and I snickered at his dad's response

"We're in the minister's box" I gloated

"by personal invitation of Cornelius Fudge himself" Draco bragged, earning him His father 'lightly' shoving his walking stick in his stomach

"don't boast Draco, there's no need with these... people"

I took a small step towards the grown man, Draco gave me the subtlest shake of his head, telling me not to, I took a deep breath and stood back again, glaring at his father

I and Draco walked a few steps back from him as we kept on advancing to the minister's box so we could talk without being overheard

"I honestly don't care if he's your father, when that guy in diagonally punched me before you beat him to a pulp, why can't you let me just- just say something to him" I groaned

"Because he will blame it on me and call me 'weak' because I can't 'fight my own battles' I don't need you to fight my battles for me"

"you and your privilege Draco..."

"WOAH"

The Irish team just completed their fly around the pitch and soared up to the sky, each team member holding something so that when they threw them in the air and separated a gigantic leprechaun appeared, dancing merrily and throwing galleons to everyone in the stadium

once again, I'm not idiotic enough to go picking up the fake galleons thinking they're real

"LOOK! THE BULGARIANS"

The red team jumped through the floating mascot, zooming around the stadium,

Victor Krum getting all the attention as per usual

"KRUM! KRUM! KRUM! KRUM!" every Bulgarian fan was chanting

"WHO ARE THEY?" I screamed over the crowd, pointing at a group of people waltzing into the middle of the stadium, there was only one word to describe them

  stunning

they were all girls, each had silver/blond hair, beautiful dresses like they were made of silk and their walk was so graceful it seemed as if they were floating

I couldn't see them all properly since they were so far away but I knew who they were

Veela

One of the biggest clues was that every single

(and I mean – single, I read something that said veela only entrance guys who aren't in love)

half the people in the stadium were trying to look closer to the women, some even trying to jump over the barriers to their death- including Theo

"Theo get the hell down" I dragged him back

"HEY!"

he kept trying to get over the metal barrier to the point I had to force Draco and Blaise to keep him down, neither, by the way, were fazed at all by the beautiful women, which lead me to think... who does Draco love?

Eventually, the stunning girls left the stadium, resulting in sad awes from most people in the crowd, and the game started...

*

"YES. COME ON KRUM... AWH NO!"

Krum had nearly caught the snitch but lost it again, we were about half an hour into the game now, and I had a feeling it was going to end soon

"If you'll excuse me Draco" Lucius gave his son a knowing look and set off out the stands, Draco turned back to the game, smirking

"What was that about?" he looked at me, his smirk dropping

"what was wha- oh that? That's nothing" he waved a hand dismissively but as the game disappeared I knew he was lying

"When shall we do it? Now?" a large group of men and women were gathered inside a tent

"no, we'll do it just after the match" another answered, putting on a mask much too familiar...

"ok.. ok, but where are the muggles? We can't do this without the main characters" a few people snickered at the man's comment

"they're in their own muggle tent, should we get them now or after the match?" a woman asked

"no..." this is the only person I recognize "now, while the match is still going strong and no one will see us"

Lucius Fucking Malfoy

By the time I woke up everyone had left the stands, me following Draco with the biggest scowl I could muster

"Hey, mione? d'you Wanna- let's go Blaise" Wren noticed how angry I was and pulled my brother away from danger

"where are you- oh, what's wrong?" he tried putting on a fake innocent smile

"come here" I dragged him by the ear and steered him towards a large woods

"ow- ow- ow, Hermione get off, OW" I let him go at the edge of the forest

"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU? YOU WERENT GONNA TELL ME YOUR DAD IS ABOUT TO DO SOMETHING WITH THE DEATH EATERS?" he winced as I screamed, I don't usually let my anger get so out of control, but this is next-level stupidity

"ok- I know, but if I had told you father would have- well you can imagine what he would've done"

"I don't give a damn that you didn't tell me" that's a lie "I GIVE A DAMN THAT YOUR FATHER IS ABOUT TO DO SOMETHING ILLEGAL- PROBABLY SOMETHING TORTUROUS AND YOU WERE SMIRKING ABOUT IT"

he sighed in agitation "mione, I didn't do anything wrong, it's not my fault father still does these-" he was interrupted by a large bang, screams, and fire being set off in the camp sight

"DRACO I SWEAR TO MERLIN IF YOU DON'T STOP THIS BULL-"

"HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO STOP IT?"

"he's YOUR father Draco!" I lowered my voice a little

"I DON'T CONTROL MY FATHER, IF I DID I CAN ASSURE YOU I WOULDN'T BE LETTING HIM-"

I laughed dryly "oh- oh yeah sure, you and I both know that you're just as proud as him to be one of those- those killers" I tried following some of the terrified wizards further in the trees but he grabbed my arm

"I would never want to be like him Hermione, I don't like muggles, I wouldn't kill them- especially not for my own entertainment" he looked... sad

he let me go and I walked away

I believe him, but- I don't know...
