Hermione's POV // august 31st
"What happened now"
we had walked inside the compartment and saw Draco sitting there alone with a black eye and cut lip
"what do you mean- oh"
I sat next to him and pulled my wand out "look at me" he, very reluctantly, turned to me "you really need to learn to stand up to your dad... vulnus medico" I waved my wand, the bruise and cut disappeared "there"
he sighed and looked out of the window "I can't stand up to him, he'd hurt me more" I gazed out of the window to see the green fields of flowers and animals happily lounging around
"well, at least learn a few healing spells ok?" he nodded in answer
"Okay... what is that?" as I looked out the window again I saw something flying around the train
"is that a... a car?" Draco pointed at the object, it had stopped turning and was upright again
"I think so- what the f-" someone had just half fallen out of the car and was now dangling from the car door
"who is that?"
I saw a glimpse of red and black hair "its potter and weasel" I sighed in frustration
"at least they might get in trouble"
"they better"

"RAVENCLAW!"
As the hat announced the last first year the chatter resumed almost instantly as Dumbledore announced for the feast to begin
"where do you think they're going?" I gestured towards the pair of professors now hurrying out of the great hall
"I dunno, don't really care either really"
I rolled my eyes at Wren "I don't know how we ended up being friends, you never eavesdrop on anyone and you can never be bothered to stick your nose in other people's business"
"because I don't care about it"
"Well you better learn, if we're gonna continue being best mates you need to up your game" I took a cup of pumpkin juice from the stand in front of me
"Yeah yeah"

"you go on Wren I need to talk to Draco"
Wren just informed me that she was going off to bed but I needed to stay to go over our plan in the Slytherin common room
"come here Draco" he walked over to me reluctantly and I put a silencing charm around our area "are you sure that it's gonna happen this year?"
he nodded "I heard them talking about it, besides, potter and weasel were in a car yeah? That means that they couldn't get on the train and that implies that they probably couldn't get through the barrier meaning someone or something stopped them so someone else knows and were trying to stop him from coming back" he explained,
"that's quite a big deduction you have there. Ok, if that is true then I know what that other book was even though you ignored me so do we give her the paper after it starts or before?"
"after, Parkinson needs to know what it's on about so we need to wait until they start getting their own answers too"
"So we're just gonna let people get hurt?"
"We have to"
I nodded in agreement and stood up to go to bed "night Draco"
