Chapter 26

Remi walks out of the bathroom going over what she heard on the news, and her conversation with Arlo in her head, "Earth to Remi!" Josephine shouts, Remi snaps back to reality and she meets Josephine's gaze, "About time, I called your name like a million times you know." 

"Oh sorry, I was just thinking." she replies, "What did you want to say?"

"Feeling better?"

"Yeah." Remi replies as she takes a seat, Josephine studies her for a moment before and turns away. 

"That's good." she turns back around with two plates in her hands, "It's butter chicken. I made it milder then usual since I don't know your tastes." she hands Remi her plate.

"Thanks."

"You're welcome." she says, takes her seat and takes a bite, "So good." she compliments herself, Remi takes a bite of hers and her eyes widen slightly, "In a good or bad way?" Josephine asks.

"This is really good." she compliments, Josephine smiles.

"I'm glad. I went grocery shopping earlier and bought ice-cream for dessert." she explains.

"Then you should've texted me, I would've helped you." 

"It's okay. I didn't know we were going to be roommates besides the Doc said I need to exercise my shoulder." she informs taking another bite.

"You don't have my number do you?" Remi asks.

"That to." 

"Lets share info then." she takes out her phone, Josephine does the same. "Got it."

"Same." she says and they both put there phones away as they continue eating, Remi studies her. Why would she be paired up with me? It would be better if she was with a low tier instead, unless there's something more going on. 

"What's up?" Josephine questions.

"Huh?"

"I wouldn't over think things to much." she says, "It's not like everyone in this dorm were chosen to be with other students for a specific reason." she finishes her food and heads to the sink, she saw right through me again. Yet I can't tell what she's thinking or anything, just how intuitive is she? Remi finishes her meal and heads into the kitchen to help with dishes. They finish the dishes in no time, then sit on the couch eating ice-cream.

"Josephine I was wondering about something." Remi says, Josephine looks up at her. 

"Oh?"

"Have you heard of superheroes?"

"Superheroes?" Josephine questions, "By superheroes do you mean like Fantastic 4, Captain America, Wonder Woman, Spiderman etc.?" 

"I don't mean the movies." Remi says, "I mean people like X-static who put themselves on the line to help others."

"X-Static? Doesn't ring a bell." Josephine replies taking a spoonful, mind you all I've been worried about is John. "Why?"

"How about EMBER?"

"I heard something about that last week. What is it exactly?" Josephine asks, "All I know is that's some evil group."

"EMBER is a government task force the authorities fund so that they can take down vigilante superheroes, and high tiers." Remi explains, is that why Sera and I were attacked? But- 

"Why would the government want to take out innocent people?"

"That's something I want to find out to." she states taking a spoonful of her ice cream.
