Chapter 12

The bell rang and Josephine grabbed her and John's stuff, she headed out and accidentally bumped into someone falling onto her backside, "Josephine, what's the rush?" Josephine looked up to find Felisha in front of her, offering her hand. She clasped Felisha's wrist and Felisha pulled her back on her feet.

"Sorry about that John's in the infirmary again. Doc said he'd be ready after school so I thought I'd go pick him up." she signed.

"Did something happen?" Felisha asked pointing to her own cheek, Josephine glanced down then waved her hand.

"I tried to defend him but since I'm not at full strength yet my defenses weren't as good as they normally are." she signed explaining it to her.

"Your last fight took that much out of you huh." Felisha asked, Josephine nodded, "Geez, you need to try and think about yourself a little more than you do."

"Sorry." she signed again.

"Don't apologize it's not a bad thing, you just got to be careful y'know." 

"Right, well I'll be going now I'll see you tomorrow." she signed and left.

"See you tomorrow!" Felisha called after her, on her way towards the infirmary she heard John's voice up ahead. She peered forwards John was cornered against the wall by a boy with purple hair and two girls. She started to pick up her pace.

"You three weaklings wouldn't be able to land a single hit on me." John stated.

"What?" the guy questioned, "You better watch what you say punk!" Josephine put herself in between them staring the three of them down.

"Josephine?" John questioned.

" 'Can I help you three with something? Can't you see John's injured and I'm sure Doc would not be happy with you making him work over time.' " she told them the Doc's hand appeared on the guys shoulder surrounded in a black aura.

"Well said Josephine, because I've got a date tonight and if anyone makes me work over time." Doc stated the guy glanced over terrified, "I'll kill them got it."

"Y-yes sir." the guy said, Doc glared at John he jumped.

"The hell you smiling about moron? You're no exception!" Doc stated, "Josephine" she jumped.

" 'Yes."

"Keep an eye on him got it." he ordered, she nodded. "Anyway I'm watching you a**holes so you better scram!" the Doc demanded stomping away.

"Tch!" the purple hair guy glared back at John, "Consider yourself lucky today. Congrats on stalling long enough for Silver Rose and the Doc to bail you out." he smiled, "But remember someone like you never be more than a leech who feeds off others."

" 'And you guys remember this, I have John's back so if you try anything you will have to answer to me.' "Josephine stated harshly her stare intensified.

"Let's go." the three of them walked away, John remained silent. Josephine glanced back at him, he's must be remembering something, she put her hand firmly on his shoulders staring into his eyes.

" 'You're not alone, you remember what I've told you right.' " she asked, his stare softened the slightest bit.

"Yeah, come on lets go home." he said leaving down the hall, Josephine followed behind. 

As soon as they arrived home she sat down with John and forced him to do his homework before his workout. He finished around dinner with the help of Josephine, after dinner Josephine cleaned the dishes and John went through with his workout. Josephine then headed out to grocery shop and she hung out at Felisha's house for a bit. Once she got home she was startled by the sound of John shouting, "That's bullsh*t!" she glanced over to find him on the computer playing yet another game.
