"We need to talk." John says standing in his doorway, she nods and he walks back into his room she follows and sits down in his desk chair. He sat on his bed.
"Sera told me the gist of her situation." Josephine informs, "Anything else I should know?"
"Keep what happened a secret." he tells her she waves her arm to the side.
"That's obvious."
"During school tomorrow I don't want you to leave her side, no matter what." he states, "Not even if I find myself in. . situations."
"But I-" he glares at her she flinches.
"Understand?"
"Okay, but on one condition." she states jabbing her finger at him, he leans back.
"Condition?"
"Don't go asking for trouble. If you do you're doing a worth's week of homework in one day with no breaks, if's, and's, or buts." she drops her arm, "That's my condition."
"You drive a hard bargain."
"Then we have a deal." she smiles a slight hint of smile pulls at the corner of his lips. "I'm going to head out now." she walks toward the door about to open it. His gaze follows her.
"How're your injuries?" John asks out of the blue, she freezes remaining silent. "Josephine?"
"Better." she wraps her hand around the handle, she glances over at him and smiles, "See you at dinner." she opens the door and leaves before John could say anymore.
"What was that about?" he asks himself, "Whatever." he lays back and rolls onto his side, closing his eyes.
~~~~~
Middle school John glances over at his sister, who was panting and on her knees. "What's wrong? You're not injured are you? I barely touched you." she looks up at him.
"You call that barely touching!" she snaps, "You cloaked your fist in energy and sucker punched me!" she winces harshly clutching at her ribs, John studies her then walks over and slaps her. She falls onto her side then turns her head to look at him.
"Get used to it." he states harshly. "If you can't handle my attacks, you don't stand a chance."
"Are you kidding me?!" she shouts and stands up and grabs a hold of his shirt, "I've done nothing but be your punching bag since you learned more about your ability. How the hell do you expect me to help you when you don't teach me anything!"
"Shut the hell up!" he demanded, "You're not worth teaching anything to!"
"You-" her hands slip from his shirt and she collapses to her knees coughing up a storm, blood on the edge of her lip. John kneels down placing a hand on her shoulder.
"How're your injuries?" he asks, she glares up at him. "Don't give me that look, I'll heal you." she immediately drops her glare.
"Thank you!" she beams he activates his healing ability, "After I'm healed up I'll try-" she winces harshly cutting herself off.
"Hurts doesn't it." he states.
"What're you-" she cries out and he lets her go, she falls onto her side panting heavily sweat blanketing her face.
"Don't talk back to me." he orders, she looks up at him fear in her eyes, tears trailing down her cheeks. Her body trembling.
"John." she pants.
"Let that be your first lesson." he walks away.
~~~~~~~
John's eye snap open and he shoots up, looking down at his hands, I know I did horrible things to her, but I didn't think-. "John." he looks up at his door Josephine in the doorway, she rushes up to him placing her hand on his shoulder. "Hey, what's wrong?" she studies his expression, "If you're thinking about the past, DON'T. I told you what's in the past stays in the past."
