Beep, beep, beep!
Josephine feels the bedside table for her phone, she picks it up and sits up scratching her head half asleep. "What a night that was." She gets to her feet, walks over to her door, opens it and steps out. Something rushes by her, she falls on her butt and blinks.
"I can't activate my ability!" Sera yells.
"Sera?!" Josephine shot to her feet, and ran to the bathroom spotting Sera on her knees, holding the clock with trembling hands.
"What?!" John question.
"I've been trying all this time, and nothing!" Sera states, "How. . . how did this happen?" her tone shaking with fear, "W-what did they do to me? Why?" she drops the clock. "What am I supposed to-?!" John places his hand on her shoulder.
"Hang on, let's not jump to conclusions." John reassures.
"What's going on?" John and Sera look in the doorway, Josephine walks in.
"Sera can't use her ability." John tells her, she kneels down beside her.
"I see." Josephine notes and hugs Sera and lets go, "I'm sorry I can't do anything about your situation, but maybe the drug's still in your system and that's why."
". . ."
"How about we call the doc. He'll know what to do." she suggests and turns to John for support.
"Good thinking Josephine. What do you think Sera?" he agrees, she drops her gaze to the floor.
"Yeah. . . you're right." she says and takes a deep breath, John and Josephine smile.
"Morning." Arlo greets from the door.
"Seraphina, you're awake!" Elaine says happily with a smile.
"Arlo, what're you doing here?" Sera asks narrowing her eyes.
"Nice seeing you too." he replies.
"Oh let me fill you in." John says, "After Josephine and I got home we called Elaine for help. It just so happened Arlo was with her, so he tagged along." he casts quick glance to his sister. Sera looks to her.
"He's telling the truth." Josephine supports and stands up, "I'm going to go ahead and make breakfast now." she walks away, as she passes by her door her phone goes off. Oh right! She runs inside grabs her phone and answers.
"Hel-"
"WHAT THE F*CK'S WRONG WITH YOU?!!!" he yells, Josephine holds the phone away from her ear. She opens one eye and slowly brings her phone back to her ear.
"You didn't have to yell so loud." she says walking out of her room and into the kitchen, she plugs in her earbuds, slides her phone in her pocket and starts on breakfast. To start she dumps some rice into a rice-cooker, grabs a measuring cup placing it under running water.
"I'm sorry, " he apologizes, "but when you suddenly hung up on me last night I was worried you were in trouble."
"Awe!" she coo's turning off the water and bringing the cup to eye level, "And if I was?"
"Then I'd rush over there."
"How sweet, but it's alright." she says dumping in the water, puts on the lid and flicks the switch, "My phone died."
"Okay, soo what really happened?"
"Huh?" she asks.
"You aren't telling me everything." he states.
