Chapter 30

"Hey John." Blyke greets, he glances over as he finishes gelling his hair. 

"What?"

"I haven't finished brushing my teeth but uh" he pauses, "Do you want to wait up? We can walk to class together?" they exchange a moment of silence.

"No." he comments and walks away. He exits the dorm to find Remi and Sera waiting at the head of the path, curious he looks around. Where is she? She hasn't forgotten about what I told her did she?

" 'Morning." Sera greets.

"Morning." he replies, "Where's Josephine?"

"She's resting." Remi answers.

"Why? Did something happen?" he questions.

"She arrived at the dorm late last night, and collapsed right in the doorway." Remi says, Sera and John meet gazes. "I hope she's going to be alright."

"Was she injured at all?" John asks, Remi shakes her head. "That's a relief." 

"We should be heading to class, I'll check in with her during lunch." Remi tells them, they nod and enter the school.

A few hours later. . . 

Josephine rolls over and reaches on her bedside table for her phone, feeling nothing she drops her hand and looks at the table. "Right my phone broke during the" she snaps upright and runs to the bathroom. She looks over herself for any injuries, she pulls her hair back in a pony and studies her neck. "Thank goodness." she sighs with relief and walks out of the bathroom, she knocks on Remi's door. No response. She glances at the clock on the wall and halts. 

"Shit! I'm late!" she shouts and starts racing around. Once cleaned up she grabs her bag and sprints out of the dorms and towards the main building. She hops up the stairs and rounds the corner to only fall on her backside.

"Sorry, about that. I wasn't paying attention." she apologizes and cleans up her things.

"Seraphina?" Arlo comments, she stands up with her things in her hands and meets Arlo's gaze.

"Did you hit your head or something?" she questions, he blinks and studies her.

"It's not like you to be this late Josephine." he comments.

"I slept through my alarm, now will you excuse me." she replies and walks around him.

"Tell the truth." Arlo comments, she dips her head clutching her bag then takes a deep breath to compose herself.

"I told you already, I slept through my alarm that's all." she remains consistent and resumes walking toward class.

"Were you attacked?" he questions, she freezes. "When? Where? By who?"

"Excuse me." she answers coldly as she walks away.

"Keeping silent won't help anyone. " he says, "I'll be on the roof." he walks away, Josephine stares at the ground. Damn it all!

Ring! Ring, Ring!!!

"It's lunch time already?" she comments as she looks from the clock to the halls as students trickle in. Many cast sideways glances at her as they walk by, she ignores them and continues forwards. 

"I thought they were all rumours." gossip flows by her ears, she glances over to see a gaggle of students.

"What's this?" she stops and looks.

"But turns out it's really true! No wonder she's been acting so weird. Doesn't this mean Josephine lied?" gossip continues, "Hold on a minute does this mean that she can be beaten now?" Josephine bites the inside of her lip her grip tightening on her bag, this is absolutely ridiculous! If this keeps up it's going to be-
