OMNISCIENT POV
The blonde-haired angel shoots up in his bed, his heart racing a thousand beats per second.
"Rae," Ilios says breathily. Rae?
Hey, love. A deep, soothing voice replies through the link. Tears swell in Ilios's eyes as he hears Rae's voice after fifty years.
Rae, where are you? Are you alright? Ilios throws off the covers as he slides out of the bed and slips on a pair of pants.
I'm fine, babe. I'm with Kilo.
Kilo? Is he alright? What about Castyr? They went missing. Are they okay? Ilios asks as he pulls a shirt over his head.
Babe...Castyr got taken. Kilo said Aklys found them.
Ilios' heart sinks as he hears the news. What?! When? His baby is in the clutches of the demon general!
Last night. It happened before I got out.
Right. I have a hundred questions, but right now, tell me where you are. I am coming.
I'm on Earth with Kilo and some human called Devyn. Also, there's a demon, but don't freak out. He's pretty chill.
...Oh...ok. I'll try. As long as he hasn't hurt you or any of my babies. Ilios replies as he throws on a jacket and grabs his go-bag of essentials and lots of lorne.
Oh, babe, don't tell anyone about any of this. Not even about me. Rae warns.
Ok. Why? Ilios asks as he leaves his quarters and walks down the hallway.
There's a mole in Heaven.
Figures. If not, how would a whole demon fleet get into Ithyos? I swear I am going to kill whoever hurt my baby Castyr!! Ilios is surprised at himself. He has never called Castyr his baby but has always seen the star as his little one ever since he looked up at him with those big eyes in the transport tower. So small and innocent. Well, what can he say? He was never able to hide any part of himself from Rae, including the new, mother bear side.
"General," the lady at the front desk greets as Ilios walks up.
"I am using my sick days and vacation that I have stored up and am going on leave," the angel informs the lady.
"Please state the reason."
"Tell the admiral that I am going to find Ithyos's lost star," Ilios replies before signing off on his own vacation and exiting the Division of Defense.
Wow. Look at you, Mr. General. Rae says through the link, his sexy voice making the blonde blush.
Shut up. Ilios says as his cheeks turn red. Aaaahh. It's so good to have you back. I can't wait to see you.
Mmmm. Me too. We are taking a long vacation once we find Castyr and this is all over.
Agreed. We deserve it.
KILO'S POV
"Is he coming?"
Rae turns to me and nods his head. "He's at the transfer center."
I smile at the big angel blushing. Ilios must have said something through the link to make Rae shy. I lean back against the couch in the common room in Devyn's penthouse and heave a breath. Watching Rae connect with Ilios makes me miss Castyr immensely. The entering of Miren with a tray of refreshments interrupts my deep longing, however, so I try on a small smile to the approaching human.
Miren has already been introduced to Rae, but she still bows slightly as she hands him a drink of fresh, cooled tea.
"Thank you," Rae smiles. Miren returns the smile before going over to Devyn and joining him on the couch. Devyn scoots closer to Denzyl to give Miren room even though there was already plenty of space on the three-seater sofa.
Devyn leans into Denzyl as the demon drapes his arm around the human's slender yet well-built frame. The human gives the demon a small smile as he passes Denzyl a drink, which the demon returns as he accepts the glass with his free hand.
Rae lets out a small chuckle as his in-link conversation with Ilios continues. I look back and forth from a giggling Rae to a cuddling Denzyl and Devyn. Suddenly feeling very alone, I set my cup of tea on the stand beside the couch and walk to Castyr and my room after nodding to Miren in thanks for the untouched beverage.
Upon entering the room, I make my way to the short balcony and set my elbows on the glass railing. I run my fingers through my dark hair and heave a sigh, longing for my star. It has been hours since he has linked me. I know it might be a little naggy or annoying or possessive, but I think I have the right to be as my star is in Hades right now, and I do not know if he is okay or what he is going through....
Okay...I DO know what he might be going through since I was in-prisoned in Hades for fifty years, so that actually makes me even more worried. I let out a major sigh and hang my head as my emotions boil up, and my head feels as if it will split in two.
Erm...Kilo? You okay?? A small voice asks in my head.
Castyr? Are you okay?? I ask immediately upon hearing the star's voice.
Yeah...I'm okay. Aklys actually won't let anyone near me. We just got here, though, so we'll see. But, for now, Aklys is protecting me. I must be very valuable. The king wants me unharmed and at my full capacity.
I have mixed feelings from this. I am happy Aklys is taking care of Castyr and not letting random demons near my star, but what Castyr said about the king wanting him at his full capacity makes me worry about what that bastard has planned for Castyr.
Okay. As long as you're not in any pain. I respond.
Mm hmm. I'm fine.
That's good.
Oh, I have to go. Aklys is leading me to my holding cell. Love you, Kilo.
I am only able to say, Love you, Castyr, before the star cuts the link.
I sigh with mixed feelings of relief and worry as my interaction with Castyr ends abruptly. I wish we could talk for longer, but Aklys seems to remain close to Castyr at all times, which I have mixed feelings about. I am about to head back into the room when a sensation of shock strikes my stomach causing my heart rate to spike. The feeling was from Castyr!
