The entire arena was filled with a deafening silence. The other kings were amazed to see Karn's beautiful wife. They had never seen her earlier. Was she a princess? Was she a commoner? There was something different about her. They had never seen a more vocal girl before this.
Duryodhan was shocked as he recognized his friend's wife in this position. Karn had no words. He looked at her with a pain in his eyes. The pain of repentance. His wife looked at him with a look of rejection in her face.
"How could you allow this!" Meghna shouted to Krishna who had a soft smile on his face.
"Answer me Govind! How could you allow this! You didnt speak up against the injustice ! How could you stay silent Govind!" Meghna asked angrily.
Krishna rose from his seat. Everyone were too engrossed on the scene. The pandavas were so relieved that his brother had such a courageous and amazing wife. They respected Meghna with all their heart. She had saved Karn when the others could not.
"This arrogant princess has insulted my mitr! Your husband! She insulted him for being a sutaputra!" Duryodhan accused Draupadi who was tired from explaining her actions. She had no intention of insulting Karn. She just wanted to marry Arjun. That was it!
"Really? Is that so? I dont buy it!" Meghna declared firmly shocking everyone in their spots. Karn knew Meghna was right. He knew Draupadi was innocent. Draupadi looked at Meghna with gratefulness visible in her eyes.
"What do you mean! She didnt want to marry Karn! Because of his caste! " Duryodhan protested.
"I know Draupadi a bit too well to agree with you! I know she can never do such a thing! I know her very well! She is my sakhi!" Meghna replied back.
Everyone were shocked. This girl knew the princess.
Draupadi could feel her tears making way down her cheek. She had missed her friend so much.
"Did Princess Draupadi mention the term "sut"?" Meghna asked.
No one could answer. Draupadi had in fact never used the term sutaputra.
Karn nodded knowingly.
"I agree. Princess Draupadi is absolutely innocent" Karn supported Draupadi. Draupadi was extremely thankful to Karn. He had suffered so much because of her yet he supported her.
"I didnt expect anything from any of you arrogant princes! But Govind...you have disappointed me. You didnt help Karn. You didnt stop these people. Even though you knew Drauapdi was innocent. " meghna cried.
Krishna walked towards Meghna
"Listen to sakhi! You know my true self! You know I can end this entire tale right now. But that is not my genre sakhi. I assist people. I advise them. I dont perform actions which are not destined to be done by me. You were destined to perform this action. You were destined to support Karn. To stand up for him. It was your destiny sakhi. I cant play with destiny. " Krishna explained softly. Meghna realised his words. He was right. She shouldn't have judged him. He was Krishna after all.
The other people in the arena desperately wanted to know what they were talking about.
Meghna nodded. Krishna smiled.
"Its good to see you Sakhi " Krishna expressed his joy.
Meghna smiled back.
"The truth may hurt but he is a sutaputra after all. He shouldn't be allowed to participate anyway!" Shouted Jarasandh.
"Maharaj Jarasandh is right!" Drupad supported.
"Pitashree! Please stop. Dont commit so many sins. How can you insult anyone simply because they are born in a suta family?!" Draupadi asked.
