Chapter Twenty-seven.

Andrew’s POV.

It has been two weeks since Charm left my unit and here I am, waiting for her to come back. I really don't know the reason why she suddenly left that time when Renz and me was just having conversation at my place.

I mean, we just talk 'cause he really needs my help financially. Nalaman ko kasi manganganak na 'yung babaeng matagal na 'nyang inilihim sakin. He honestly came and ask if I can lend him some money.

“You know what, you're so dumb and insensitive. Gash! Sumasakit ulo ko sayo!” Hannah massaged her temple out of frustrations.

I can't blame her. I'm having headaches since Charm left me and I think, this is more than just an headache. May kung ano kasi sa puso ko ang nawalan.

“If I were you, I'll approach her and ask her to come back. Di 'yung para kang tanga na wala kang ginagawang effort para pabalikin 'sya.” she took a sip at the tea and gave me a death glare. “You should do it, Andrew. That is what girls want. Osya, alis na ko. May date pa kami ng lalavs ko.” she tapped my shoulder and left.

I took a deep breath with the thoughts running on my head. What if, she's not gonna show up if I ask her to talk to me?

I throw a glance at my walk clock and saw that it's already 9 in the evening. I think I really have to talk to her. I want to confirm something from her. Umalis agad ako at bumaba patungong parking lot. Pinaandar ko ang makina at nagdrive.

Buti na lamang at alam ko ang address nila which is, nalaman ko lang mula kay Mama. Wala pang tatlompung minuto, nakarating agad ako sa village nila.

Walang gwardiyang nagbabantay nang mapadaan ako sa guard station ng village, so I immediately took the chance para makapasok. It was five blocks away when I saw ‘Ghaddi's Residence’ written in a black gate. I stopped the engine and took my courage to face Charm tonight.

Pinindot ko ang doorbell ng ilang beses. Nang marinig kong may nagbubukas na sa loob, umayos agad ako sa pagkakatindig. It isn't Christmas season but the breeze air is freezing. Pasimple kong inayos ang suot kong jacket habang naghihintay sa kung sino ang nagbubukas.

And I am fcking hopefull na si Charm ang magbubukas. I badly want to talk to her.

“Malas! Ba't kasi ako pa nagbukas eh!” bulong 'nya kaya napangiti ako ng bahagya. “Uhm, what are you doing here?” she said while keeping the distance away from me.

“I..I just wanna check if you're doing great.” Oh! C'mon. This is not what I want to say!

“As you see, I'am fine as gold.” she obviously stated.

I took a deep breath for the fourth time of the night. “I wanna ask you...for something.”

“What is it?”

Napayapos sya sa sarili 'nya so I immediately took off my jacket at isinuot ito sa kanya. She's just wearing a sando and a goddamn dolphin shorts so probably, she's freezing.

“T-thanks..” she shyly said.

I genuinely smiled. “Charm..Do you..love me?”

Shocked was written on her face because of my sudden question. Napatitig sya sakin na tila naghihintay kung may kasunod bang salita akong sasabihin. Maybe she thinks I'm just making pranks or jokes here.

“Are you drunk, Andrew?”

I cleared my throat. “C'mon, Charm. I'm not drunk.”

Natahimik sya ng ilang sandali at napakagat sa labi. Maybe she's obviously thinking how to answer my goddamn questions without hurting me. I laughed mentally. I thought, she had feelings towards me. Maybe that was just an illusions.

“CHARM? WHO'S THAT?” rinig naming sigaw pareho.

Nataranta sya kaya agad 'nya akong itinulak para makaalis.

“L-let's talk next time, Andrew! I don't want them to know that you're here. Sorry..”

Marahan 'nya akong itinulak papunta sa kotse ko. Agad akong dumukot sa bulsa para ibigay sa kanya ang bagay na matagal ko nang gustong ibigay.

I gave her a glnce for the last time and grabbed her right hands. Ipinatong ko sa palad ang plastic na singsing. This is just a toy for some kids, but I treasured this more than my life.

“W-what's this?” she asked with a puzzled face.

“Giving you back the thing that I gave you before.” I took a step closer to filled the distance between us and gave her a kiss on her head.

“Goodnight, Charm. Promise me that we'll talk tomorrow.”

“Graduation namin bukas. B-busy ako eh.”

“I know. But I'll make sure that we'll have a talk tomorrow. Now, you go inside. Aalis din ako kapag nakapasok ka na.” I said and smiled at her.

“S-sige.”

Tumakbo agad sya papunta sa gate nila at sinara ito.

I decided to drove home tonight. I mean, sa mismong bahay namin mismo. Minsan lang ako umuuwi rito kaya malamang, tuwang-tuwa na naman si Mama kapag nalaman 'nyang pumarito ako.

“Oh my God! You should have inbox me, son! Hindi tuloy ako nakapag-luto ng marami! Saka tulog na 'yung Papa mo.” bati 'ni Mama nang makapasok ako sa bahay.

I kissed her forehead and gave her a hug.

“It's okay, Ma. You don't have to bother. I...just wanna come here to see you.”

Kumulas sya mula sa pagkakayakap sakin at gulantang na napatingin. She really likes to exaggerate things. “Why?! What happened? This is so not like you, son. I know you very well.”

“Ma...I'm gay.”

Napahinto sya ng ilang sandali at napatitig lang sakin. I don't want to keep this secret anymore. I just want to live a life without keeping secrets to the people I loved.

“I know, son. Come here. Upo muna tayo.” inakay nya ako paupo sa couch. “I'm your mom. Dinala kita sa sapupunan ko for 9 months, kaya kilala kita anak. And I don't judge you if being gay is what you really choose for yourself. Tanggap ka namin ng Papa mo. Ikaw na nga lang nag-iisa naming anak tapos itatakwil ka pa ba namin?” natatawang litanya ni Mama.

Napa-angat ako ng tingin at pinigilang tumulo ang luha ko. I really didn't know that they already knew about my sexuality. It surprises me more that they accept me for who I truly am.

“Thank you, Ma.” I hugged her again.

“You're always welcome, my son. Anyway, kumare called me last time about you and Charm.... Pati tuloy ako nakokonsensya.” she said.

Napabuntong-hininga nalang ako.

“I know, Ma.  You and tita planned everything. Na hindi totoong na bankrupt ang kompanya nila. You guys wants us to matched.” she raised her brows and laughed.

“I'm really not good when it comes to this. Si kumare kasi eh..”

“Hah. It's okay, Ma. Everything will be alright. I'll make sure that your plan will succeed.” I gave her a genuine smile kaya ngumiti sya ng nakakaloko..

Yes, I'm gay. But I admit that I already have fallen for her. Isa pa, matagal na akong may pangako sa kanya. It is time to fullfill that promise .

“Son, ha! Basta babae gusto kong apo. Pero I want you both to get married first—”

“Good night, Ma.”

I decided to cut her off and rushed upstairs.  I guess, I should make things right. I do hope that it is not yet too late to ask her again to come back to me.

I'll do everything for her to love me and I'll make sure to keep my promises back when we were still a kid...
