Chapter Eighteen.

Days passed by and Friday came. I like how Gwen treated me now. She smiled at me everytime she see me. I don't know if she's just faking it but that's better than being treated like I'm her greatest enemy in history.

Kakatapos lang naming kumain ng lunch ni Lana kaya pabalik na kami sa loob ng company. Hawak-hawak ko ang phone ko sa isang kamay at naramdamang nag-vibrate ito. I stopped and checked my inbox.

"Girl! Woi!" sundot sakin ni Lana sa tagiliran.

I didn't bother to throw her a glance and just slap her fingers with annoyance. Dali-dali kong binasa ang text na galing kay Andrew.

Andrew: Let's talk later.

That was just a three words but it made me tremble. I've been avoiding him since Monday. I didn't have the chance to invite him to go with me because I can't even decide wether to go alone and unwind or bring him with me.

Natigil ako sa pag-iisip when Lana slightly pulled the tips of my hair.

"Kanina pa kita tinatawag, hindi ka naman nakikinig." wika nya na parang nagmamaktol.

"Ano ba kasi 'yun."

Ngumuso sya sa may lobby kaya napatingin agad ako roon. I saw Carlos wearing his smile again and waved at us. Naglakad agad sya papunta sa gawi namin kaya nataranta ako bigla.

"Hey." bati nya sa amin.

"Hi, sir!" bati pabalik ni Lana at ginantihan nya naman ng isang ngiti.

Maybe I should call him MR. SMILE? He likes to smile all the time and he's so attractive evertime he do that.

"Hi." I plainly said.

"Sorry about the last time."

"Its okay. I hope we can still be friends?"

I don't know what did Andrew said to Carlos that time. I'm still clueless until now pero hindi ko rin naman gustong malaman. Maybe Andrew just said to Carlos that I'm his fianceé and that's it.

"Of course!" he chuckled, such a nice guy. "Anyway, I heard this is your last day here in our company?" tanong nya kaya sabay kaming napatango ni Lana.

"Mamimiss ka namin, sir! Huhu!"

"I will surely miss you too guys. I hope may natutunan kayo sa kompanya namin." wika nya at nahihiyang napakamot sa batok nya.

I surely have learned a lot of things in their company. Gwen taught me well enough.

"Of course, sir. Ang dami naming natutunan." Lana replied. Napabaling naman si Carlos sakin.

"How 'bout you, Charm?"

"I learned a lot of things. And I want to thank you for saving me from my mistake last time." I honestly said.

"That wasn't your mistake. I honestly checked the CCTV and I saw that Gwen was the suspect itself." turan nya kaya nabigla ako.

"Bruha talaga 'yung Gwen na 'yun!" gigil na saad ni Lana.

Gwen did that? And she blamed me for loosing that important documents? Ghad. I can't believe this. Malaki ata talaga galit ng babaeng 'yun sakin. Kinuwento rin ni Carlos na tinago pala 'yung folder ni Gwen. Buti nalang daw chineck nya ang CCTV.

"Well, it's her last day in this company, too. I decided to fire her." I gasped.

"Why?"

Nakaramdam ako ng lungkot para kay Gwen. I will never forget how she treated me but still, nakakaawa pa rin. Paano kung may pamilya syang pinapakain?

"Uhm, can I ask a favor, Carlos?" he looked at me intently. "I know Gwen is a bitch. But, I think she still deserves to work here." I shyly said.

"Okay. I'll talk to my dad." wika nya kaya napatalon ako sa tuwa. Napairap naman si Lana. "I think I badly need to go. Hope we can still see each other. Bye guys! Goodluck to your journey!" he said and waved us goodbye.

Nagpaalam na rin kami sa kanya at nagtungo na pabalik sa office. Inirapan pa ako ni Lana because she can't accept that I asked Carlos a favor about Gwen. Alam kong galit sya sa babaeng 'yun, kahit din naman ako eh but I still have kindness in my heart.

Nang hapon na binitbit na namin ni Lana ang mga gamit namin. Wala naman kaming masyadong gamit dito sa opisina at tanging laptop lang ang pinakaimportante kaya hindi kami nahirapan.

"Bye Charm at Lana! Mamimiss talaga namin kayo rito sa office." mangiyak-ngiyak na sabi ni Hazel.

"Oo nga! Wala ng magiingay rito!" Connie added.

"Sows! Magkikita rin tayo. Invite ko kayo sa graduation ko." wika ni Lana na sinang-ayunan ko naman.

Naggroup-hug muna kami saka tuluyan nang nagpaalam sa kanila. Sa wakas, malapit na kami gagraduate! Wossssh! Nauna na si Lana'ng lumabas, sumunod agad ako ngunit pinigilan ako ni Gwen. She looks at me and give me a genuine smile. Then she hugs me which I never expected that she will do.

"Thank you and sorry for being a bitch to you." she said after detaching herself from me.

I was speechless. I couldn't find the exact words of what I should say to her. Nanatili lang akong nakatingin sa kanya at pinakinggan sya.

"I heard you asked Carlos na wag akong paalisin dito. I know I was a bitch back then and I badly want to apologize for that." she said and gave me an apologetic smile.

"It's fine with me." I smiled back at her kaya niyakap nya ako ulit.

"Thank you so so much! I wish you goodluck to your journey, Ms. Charm Ghaddi."

Nakangiti ako habang nagda-drive pabalik sa condo. Ang gaan sa pakiramdam kasi feeling ko nawalan ako ng kaaway. Haha! But then, when Andrew popped up in my head, I started to feel nervous again. Ano kayang pag-uusapan namin?

Bitbit ko ang laptop ko habang nakasakay sa elevator. Mabibigat ang hakbang ko papunta sa condo unit nya. Nang itipa ko ang password, bumukas agad ang pinto at bumungad sakin si Andrew na nakabusangot habang nakaupo sa sofa. His face lighten up when he saw me standing at the door. He immediately stood up and made his way to me.

"Baby, are you avoiding me?"
