Peter was released from the hospital a few days later with a clean bill of health. His freaky illness was still not able to be explained, but he wasn't too worried because it seemed to have made him better where he could see, and he actually had some muscles now, at least according to May he did. It was now Sunday and Peter still had his homework to finish. Peter, May, and Ben returned to their apartment and instead of cooking Ben decided to order out tonight. They decided on pizza. Peter texted Harry and Mr. Stark to say that they were back home from the hospital and that he is still feeling fine. Tony responded with a smiley face and thumbs up emoji. That made Peter snicker because Mr.Stark hardly ever uses emojis, but he knows they make Peter smile. It was normal for a little while and then when they were done Peter got up to put their paper plates in the trash. He opened the lid but his finger stuck to the button.

'Hmm, I guess I still have some syrup from breakfast's pancakes on my hands' he thought.

He pulled his finger off the button with little resistance. He went to put the plates in the trash can, but the bottom plate wouldn't come off. Peter pulled the plate, but all that did was rip it some. 'What is on my hands?' he thought distractedly.

Peter finally got all the paper plates unstuck from his hands and thought 'okay, I really need to wash my hands now, Why are they so sticky?'

Peter reached to turn the knob for the hot water, and when he let go the knob came with his hand.

"Uncle Ben!? The hot water knob came off! What do I do?!"

Ben rushed in and smiled worriedly. He bent down to under the sink and turned off the water line until they could fix the sink.

"How'd the knob come off, I fixed that not too long ago?" Peter grimaced and showed Ben his hand where the knob was still firmly stuck.

"Oh. Uh. How're you doing that?" Ben questioned worriedly.

"I have no clue, but it's stuck and I can't get it off."

Peter began to panic and Ben said "Okay, this may sound weird, but were you bitten by a spider recently? Did you go into any of the labs at Oscorp?"

Peter worriedly said "Yeah, Dr. Cooper showed us around the labs Thursday and when I went to Harry's room it felt like something bit me."

Ben sighed and mumbled "I knew I shouldn't have let them continue Rich and Mary's work." Peter was confused "Uncle Ben , what do you mean?"

Ben sighed again and May called from the other room "Is everything okay in there? It's been awhile. Do you need help?"

"No May, we're fine, Peter's just helping me fix the sink again."

May chuckled "Of course, we really should get a professional to fix that." She smiled and continued watching her show while Peter and Ben had a short conversation.

"Peter, your parents were working on cross-species genetics using their own DNA and spider DNA. I think that one of those spiders got out somehow, bit you, and turned you into a spider-hybrid or something, I'm not good at that science stuff like your parents were, but they told me about their projects. The spider was one of them. It was meant to be a project that would eventually help cure certain diseases, but I don't think they meant to create spider powers as a side effect. That does explain why you no longer need glasses though."

Peter gawked at his uncle's words. "I'm part spider now. That's creepy yet cool. I can finally be one of the cool kids!" Peter whisper-shouted.

"No, Peter, you can't tell anyone about this, not even May. It's too dangerous. I'll help you with this the best I can, but you have to promise me you'll keep these abilities a secret."

Peter's smile wilted but he understood."Of course Uncle Ben. I won't tell anyone. I would never put you guys in danger, but could you help me get this knob out of my hand before Aunt May gets suspicious again about why we're taking so long to fix the sink?"

"Yeah, um, try thinking about releasing the item, think about unsticking."

Peter did as instructed and the knob fell easily out of his hand. Peter smiled. It would be a while before he was used to these powers, but with Ben's help it was definitely possible.

Norman watched the footage coming in from his spy camera stationed in the Parker's kitchen. His kid has spider powers. Norman was puzzled but enthused. His son is strong now,he no longer has asthma and his physique has improved, and the other powers are just side effects that may come in handy. Now all he has to do is get Peter away from the Parkers, but how could he do that without setting off alarms. Norman began to form a sinister plan, and that plan began with eliminating Ben Parker.
