A new vigilante joined the streets about a month after Ben Parker's death. He was dubbed Spider-Man. He was a great help to Queens no matter what the Daily Bugle said about him. Peter knew that his alter-ego would eventually be publicized, but he didn't know that he'd be this popular. He was watching videos online about different fighting styles to train himself, and so far he has not needed it yet, but he knows that he'll need it eventually when dealing with hostiles like robbers or muggers, but for now he was happy just helping people find their lost pets or get their groceries in. He is the friendly-neighborhood Spider-man. No one but him knows his secret, that is, until Tony Stark began to research his patrolling habits and found him about a month later. Needless to say, confrontation was to come.

Peter had just got done escorting a woman to her home after he rescued her from a mugging when he heard Iron Man's repulsors. Peter groaned and turned around to watch Iron Man land not very far away from him in the alley by the woman's building.

"Hi, Spider-guy. I hear you're the new vigilante in town. Do you mind taking a break for a little bit so I can ask you a few questions?"

Peter tensed and Iron man was quick to say "Just for my own curiosity. S.H.I.E.L.D. is trying to recruit you for the Avengers because of your strength, but I want to know the person behind the mask first, if they're most likely going to be on my team. Just so you know, I thought it was pretty cool when you stopped that bus from hitting an oncoming car."

Peter didn't respond. He was too busy trying to figure out a way to hide his identity from Tony. "Hello? Spidey? You gonna respond?"

Peter cringed and made the executive decision to tell Tony that it's him. The consequences would be much worse if he found out later than sooner.

"Um, Hey Mr. Stark." Peter said as he unmasked.

Peter heard Tony's sharp inhale of breath and waited for the yelling. Tony's face plate lifted and Peter saw his utterly shocked expression. This was one of those instances where Tony was at a loss for words.

He shakily said "Um. Hey kid. This is very much a shock. You're coming back to the tower with me now. Don't even try arguing."

Peter cringed and Tony put his face plate back down. He picked Peter up under his armpits and flew them back to the balcony to Tony's Penthouse.

"Sit. We're going to have a long conversation about safety. I'm not going to try and stop you because I know from seeing you work in the lab that it is impossible to stop you when you set your mind to do something."

Tony said as he shed the armor and rubbed his hand over his face exasperatedly.

"You're right Mr. Stark. Nothing will stop me from helping people. Before you ask, I'm going to give you my reason. Uncle Ben knew about my powers and was helping me figure out how to use them. When he died I felt like had I been training myself I would have been able to stop those robbers before they could shoot him. I know it's not my fault, but Uncle Ben wanted me to use my powers wisely, and the best way to do that is by helping the people of my neighborhood." Peter said as Tony's face morphed into a soft, yet sad, smile.

"Okay kid. That's fine, but we need to make you a new suit. I've had designs created already, but couldn't get anything done until I found you. I'm telling you right now, you are not going back out in those pajamas unless you want me to have another heart attack. I care about you too much for you to almost get yourself killed out there kid."

Peter groaned and said "It's not a pajama set, but okay Mr. Stark. No more Spider-Man until you get the new suit done. How long will that take?"

"It'll only take about a week or so since your information is already in F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s system. I'll handle telling S.H.I.E.L.D. who you are and that you're still too young to be an Avenger. Speaking of which, Does May know about your nightly escapades?"

Peter groaned again and replied snarkily "No, she doesn't know, and I don't want S.H.I.E.L.D. to know, but I understand why they have to. Granted I would like to be an Avenger as soon as I become an adult."

Tony snickered and said "Sure thing kid, but for now we have to tell May. It's just now ten p.m. so let's get to it. I'll drive us over there. No need to fly or swing."

Norman watched as Tony Stark walked into Peter's apartment with Peter close behind. He watched and listened with his spy cameras as May frantically asked what was going on. He heard Tony explaining the situation to May while Peter sulked on the couch. May was livid at first and blamed Tony, but Peter stepped in and explained exactly as he had told Tony why he was a vigilante. May teared up and hugged Peter tightly. Norman heard her say that she was fine with Peter doing that as long as he was under Tony's protection.

They sat down and quietly discussed how Tony was going to help Peter and keep him safe while Norman shut off the cameras for now while he thought angrily 'Well, that's just great! Iron Man trying to protect my son! It looks like I'll have to move my plan forward a lot quicker before Tony can give him a suit with a tracker. He will NOT take my place. I am meant to be his father! I gave him those powers to protect him! Not to go and join a run-down and dysfunctional team of heroes!'

Norman took out his phone and texted his newest instructions to Emily. It was time to take May Parker out of the equation. No matter who the caretaker listed is, he would get Peter home.
