Emma Lyman read her most recent text and pick-up location from Norman. She left early and at the drop-site Norman had left a prescription for her to fill, and a medium size syringe with a high power tranquilizer in it. It took all her willpower not to break down at the task she had to do now. She had asked May if she had a caretaker listed in her will for Peter, and she already had one listed from a few months before, so she wasn't able to get herself listed as the caretaker, and didn't know who was listed. Norman had been furious when she reported that at first, but of course he had an even more sinister back-up plan that she had to enact today. Emma cleared her tears and went to work knowing that she wouldn't be returning to Queens Memorial after this day.

May smiled and greeted her cheerily and frowned when she saw the tear stains under her eyes. "Oh, Emma, what happened?"

"Nothing May, it was just a rough night. Let's get to work. We can talk more in the break room later."

They went to work again quickly. Emma pretended to take a restroom break and she left the ward briefly to get to work on what Norman asked her to do. She went down to the pharmaceutical department and picked up the prescription that Norman forged for her to fill discreetly because it was something for the feminine area. It was some type of powder that if ingested is highly deadly. She was tasked with poisoning May Parker. She slipped the vial of powder in her pocket for now until she could take her break with May.

"Hey, it's time for our break now. Why don't I brew us some coffee?"

Emma said as May headed out to the break room. They're the only ones with a break at this time.

"Sure, I'll get our lunches out of the fridge and set up at the table. You can fix our coffees up." Emma took two mugs from the cabinet and set the coffee to brewing. She poured half the vial of powder into the cup May always uses and hoped she wouldn't notice any different bitter taste because she likes her coffee pure black. Emma poured the coffee once it was done and stirred the powder in. She gave May the cup of deadly coffee.

"So, how's your day been going so far Emma?"

May questioned as she sipped her coffee. It won't take long for the powder to work.

"Not good, I'm afraid." Emma responded as she saw May's face turn into a grimace.

May doubled over in pain and dropped the cup which shattered on the tile floor.

"Emma, what did you do?" May slurred.

"I'm so sorry May. I'm so sorry." Emma said as May whispered Peter's name with her last breath.

Emma screamed "Help! Help!"

Security came rushing in and immediately called in a doctor who pronounced May as dead and said it was most likely an aneurysm, but nothing would be sure until an autopsy could be done. They had asked Emma what May had been doing before she collapsed, and Emma lied to them saying that she was just sitting there about to eat lunch.

"I'll call her nephew and get him down here as soon as possible. I'll take him down to see her body in the morgue for positive Identification. Please let me take him in, he knows me as May's friend, but will probably freak if a stranger from security takes him."

Emma said as they took May's body away to the morgue. She was teary and made the call to Peter's school.

Peter's spider-sense went off around noon while he was in the cafeteria talking with Harry and Ned. He then heard his name come over the intercom for him to come to the office. Peter nervously left his friends and went to the office. He immediately knew from the secretary's teary face what was wrong. He had no second thoughts when he ran past the school's security guard to get to Queens Memorial as quick as possible. He heard the principal calling after him, but nothing would stop him. He ran quickly into the lobby of the hospital and was directed to Emma, who he knew was May's friend.

"I'm so sorry Peter, she just collapsed in the break room and was gone."

Emma told him tearfully as she embraced him. She led him to the morgue and let him see May's body. Peter collapsed in tears when he saw her. Emma stood by the door making sure that nobody was watching. She took out the heavy tranquilizer Norman gave her. She quietly went to Peter and shoved it into his neck before his spider-sense could recognize the danger. She put the syringe back in her pocket.

She called the security guard in and quietly said "He passed out from his grief, she was the last person he had as family. I'll take him home now, Can you help me get him to my car?"

The guard said "Only if you're one of the boy's emergency contacts ma'am."

Emma pulled up Peter's contact information and showed the guard that she was authorized by May Parker a few weeks ago (which was actually a forged record done by Norman) as a contact.

The guard carried Peter to Emma's car for her and she thanked him. Later this guard would be fired for not only not confirming the information she gave him, but also for breaking hospital protocol and not contacting CPS. Emma shut the door and got in the driver's seat. She had the drop off point programmed into her phone's GPS. Before she left she took Peter's phone and dropped it into the nearest trash can and made sure he had no other trackers on him. She left for the drop off point quickly and continuously muttering unheard apologies to May and Peter Parker.
