Raven--Darkness
My dad's hand squeezes my shoulder as the Titans march us through the yard. They're moving us. Again. Last time we didn't try to escape but this time they're keeping Helen here. We can't be separated.
"It's okay" my dad says, his grip tightening on my shoulder.
There are dozens of them. I don't know if I can do this.
"Just run," he whispers, near my ear, "Leave me. I don't want you coming back for me. Get yourself away."
I shake my head no, a little. We are getting out of here. Together. I can do this.
I close my eyes, taking a deep breath of all too cool air.
Then one by one, the Titans burst into flames.
"Go," My dad shoves me forward, toward the cement wall. I can't burn through it, can I? I have to try. I focus my flames on it. Then I feel my dad pushing me down, a bullet in his shoulder. I set the shooter on fire but there are too many of them. Just too many.
