"Alright! The second test will commence momentarily, but first..." Echo grinned, which scared half the Chunin hopefuls atleast, I bet some even pissed their pants haha! I'm starting to like Echo, she's like her relative, except worse... Which in some situations makes for good entertainment. She continued on. "You have to sign these papers saying that Konoha isn't responsible for your death, isn't that great? Death wavers are so useful sometimes hehe..."
I took the paper as she handed one to me and signed it before walking over to the tent to turn it in. Everyone else was forming a line outside as this was also the tent to receive a scroll apparently, because they handed me a scroll with the kanji for heaven on it. I blinked and walked back out and over to Echo. "Hey, what do I do with this?"
She smacked her face with her hand, "Your inability to listen will get you killed one day kid! You're supposed to get an Earth and Heaven scroll before making your way to the tower in the middle of the forest, alright? Since your a solo team you only need yourself, if you'd have had a team then you would need to bring your entire team with you or you'd be disqualified... but you don't, so no worries!"
I let a lazy grin cross my face and let out a yawn... I could go to sleep right now. I assumed we would go in through one of the gates, so I walked up to an empty one and waited. To both of my sides there were already teams standing by the gates.
The gates opened and I walked into the forest. A giant centipede came hurtling toward me until it stopped suddenly. "Hey Kaede. Recognize me did you?"
The centipede had a red band wrapped around it's neck, telling me which one it was. Kaede nodded and started speaking through the translator I had attached to it as well. "Someone killed Lorai... They were too strong and I couldn't avenge her..."
"It's okay Kaede. Which direction?" The centipede pointed northward and I nodded. Before leaving I asked one more thing. "Did you perhaps see them carrying a scroll with the kanji for Earth on it? It had green ends if that helps."
"I saw two scrolls. One white, one green." I nodded and waved to him.
"Don't die. I would suggest you hide in the highest treetops for the next five days since it's the Chunin exams. Ja ne Kaede, and my condolences for Lorai. She was a good tiger." Then I walked toward the direction that Kaede had said.
I had no reason to run and expend my energy, after all, there were five days. Besides I like walking through the forest. Most of the creatures know me and won't attack me purposely because I don't ever try to kill them. I sense a chakra signature up ahead... Wait, six chakra signatures. Two teams are traveling together.
I push chakra into my legs and sprint to the east. Then I can see them. It's the Suna nin, and it appears they've teamed up with a team of Ame nin. I walked into their camp and ask them bluntly. "Did you perhaps kill a tiger with a white collar around it's neck?" I avoid saying she because that could be interpreted as familiarity, which might cause them to lie.
"Yeah, what of it?" One of the Ame nin said carelessly. The Suna nin recognized me and smirked.
"It's the Uchiha brat! Let's take him out guys, we'll prove the Uchiha clan isn't as great as everyone says!"
I sigh and snap my fingers. This is where the biggest leech nest resides. I watch impassively as they scream while the leeches eat their chakra. Eventually they fall down, dead. I walk over to the biggest one, who has a blue tie around it's body. "Thanks, Chief."
"...Wel...come... Shi...ro..." Chief still has problems speaking, because he's never had to before, the leeches communicate through wiggles, body language for another way of saying it. I walk over to the group of six ninja and start going through their stuff.
Everything is practically worthless to me except for a seal I see placed on one of the Ame nin's hand, a sealing scroll hidden away in a hidden compartment in a Suna nin's backpack, and five other sealing scrolls less hidden around their bodies. I take the two sets of Earth and Heaven scrolls and unseal whatever's in the Suna nin's hand.
Low and behold, it's another storage scroll, yay... I sigh and put the scrolls in my pouch before walking towards the direction of the tower.
I'm almost there when the forest falls deathly silent. Sniffing around I immediately smell... Blood. Then another smell permeates the air. Snake. There are no giant snakes within the Forest of Death.
All of a sudden a barrage of kunai come at me from all angles. My eyes widen considerably and I quickly do hand seals. "Futon! Wind Sphere!"
I push wind chakra throughout my body then turn to the sky and let it out through my mouth, shaping it as a sphere around me, controlled by the wind chakra circulating through my body. All of the kunai are deflected, and I let go of the jutsu, breathing heavily.
That stupid jutsu is hard to maintain. I huff as I kneel on one knee. Then, he lands in front of me. Him... The person who caused my Shishou so much pain...
Orochimaru.
