"... And you shouldn't strain yourself too much... You're only six for crying out loud, why did they even let you graduate?? And..." And blah blah blah, stupid civilian doctor. Med-nins are so much better. Instead, I have a civilian doctor who can't even lift my weights off of me, no matter how much he tried to.
Which in my opinion is a good thing, because Shishou specifically forbid me to remove them. I am slowly getting used to the weights, it took about a week before I could even walk with them on, so that's one week out of the four that I have... Great, just freaking great. I tune back in to reality just in time to hear the doctor squeal like a little girl.
"Yo, gaki. You want some dango?" I shrug and take some, and as I'm eating it she continues. "So the civilian didn't take your weights off... Did he?" The way she says that scares me a lot and I quickly shake my head, saying no.
"Good then, comeon. Your torn muscles should be healed. It's time to develop your unique taijutsu style even further!" I get nervous immediately, new things mean a lot of pain for me. She helps me get on my feet and the rest is easier from there.
I sluggishly walk after her until we arrive at a different training ground from our usual one. In comparison to training ground forty-four, this place is a walk in the park. It's a simple clearing with three thick wooden poles in the middle next to eachother, and a little ways through the forest is another clearing with a stone, I'm assuming a memorial stone, from all the names engraved on it, on a circular stone platform.
Shishou stops next to the poles and sits down, motioning for me to do so as well. "So, gaki, what exactly is your style about? I have a general idea, but what exactly is it?"
"It is called the Raven style, in honor of my brothers. I have based it entirely around using the lower body, legs, feet, and kneecaps. If the enemy somehow gets past that defense or disables it somehow, I still have my upper body to defend and counter attack."
"Bravo. I suppose." She says nonchalantly, handing me a bento. It is around lunch time so I open it and start eating it.
"What do you mean, you suppose? I thought it was a great idea! And I've worked really hard on it too..." I say dejectedly, she doesn't seem impressed at all even though I've put so much time and effort into perfecting it.
"Hey hey gaki! Lighten up, I was just going to suggest some improvements! No need to start your own depression party!" She waves her hands frantically in the air as I blink at her in contemplation.
"What... Kind of suggestions?" I ask curiously, my previous mood forgotten.
"Ah, after I spar with you I'll suggest something." I nod with a smile and slowly stand up, the weights dragging me down.
"That's another thing we need to work on, you getting used to your weights. I'd say if you run around the village with them on five times a day... It should make you get used to it. Just push yourself past your limits every day, that's how legends are made gaki." She ruffles my hair and I grin at her. It seems we are closer after what happened with the snake.
"Alright! I'll go right now!" She grabs my arm before I can run off and my vision turns hazy for a moment before clearing and we are in front of the village gates. Jeez, that Shunshin is a freaking rush! I wobble for a second before straightening up.
"Now, run little gaki, run before you become my summon's dinner!" I let out a squeal as a snake bigger than me puffs into existence and hissed at me. Turning around quickly, I faintly hear Shishou counting. "Five... Four... Three..."
I'm running along the village walls before she even gets to two. I hear her yell, "One! Go get em, snakey!"
I scream and try to push my muscles harder, to run as fast as I can. Eventually I'm dodging the snap attempts of the snake and finally finish my laps before falling face first onto the ground in front of the village gates.
