Hakuna Matata Ninja (Complete)

Ch 13-I am Chunin!

I woke up with the sun in my face. Urgh... Then a shrill voice cuts through the air. "Shiro-nii! Comeon, you are representing the Uchiha clan today in the exam!"

I drag myself up, absently noticing that the maxed out chakra weights aren't hindering me at all really. Of course, carrying so much weight would obviously drag you down somewhat, but it isn't dragging me down nearly as much as it used to. Translation: I can run and not fall flat on my face after the first step.

"Why... Otouto, let me sleep..." I whine as I walk down the steps and into the kitchen, scratching my head as I look in our practically empty cabinets. I need to go shopping for groceries soon... Otouto (little brother) pokes me in the back, drawing my attention to him.

"Here. I made you a bento from what I could find. It's not much, but..." I smile softly, not that Otouto can see it as he is looking away while the bento is in his outstretched hand. He is not completely lost to the darkness, and I hope to keep it that way. Taking the bento I ruffle my Otouto's hair and grin as he pouts and swats my hand away.

"Aw... Otouto, how sweet
Sasu-chan. I didn't know you cared so much... I'm touched." I grin as he blushes and looks away bashfully, giving me a glare that has no effect whatsoever out of the corner of his eyes. He's still so innocent, even after the massacre. I hope he does not have to see the real world so soon.

I let out a yawn as I take the bento and put it in the fridge to keep it fresh before going to put on some clothes. I'm surprised my Otouto didn't say anything about the weights. He could see them just because I sleep in my boxers during the night. I put on a black long sleeved shirt and pull up loose plain blue shinobi pants, and lastly put on my gray sleeveless zipper turtleneck.

Measuring my height I am fifty-four inches tall... Well, now I know why I always towered over my Otouto. He is only forty-six inches tall. I put on gray boots that have an inner layer of steel and a fuzzy looking exterior. The steel is sandwiched between two fuzzy layers, so no blisters or anything, yes!

I laugh lightly as I jump down the stairs again and arrive in the kitchen. Sasu-chan is waiting, already dressed and everything. He holds his hands out as if demanding something and I comply after I hand him the bento.

I kneel on the ground and he climbs on my back, and we are off! I jump from roof top to roof top to reach the arena. I set him down and ruffle his hair again, much to his ire and my amusement as he huffs. "I have to go no Otouto. Find a place close to the arena so you can see. I'm sure someone wouldn't mind letting you sit near them."

"Bye... Shiro-nii." Otouto says softly and I nod firmly in return before walking into the arena.

I line up next to eight people I don't know and look at the person in front of us. There isn't particularly anything noticeable about him other than the bandanna forehead protector thing and the senbon in his mouth.

I took in the sight of the competition, noticing there weren't any other Konoha genin... That is sad for our village... Makes us appear weak. I will just have to beat them all and show how strong our village is!

"Alright everybody. The first match is Lin Takanora versus Kurai Sataku. The rest of you to the platforms." I watched as a boy bearing the symbol for the Hidden Cloud and a girl with a Hidden Mist symbol walked forward. Making a hand seal I appeared on the platform in a moment, leaving falling leaves where I had once stood.

"Alright. Ready?" It seemed the Cloud genin was... cocky for a way to say it.

"Heh, why don't you go back to your village and play in the water like a good little genin Kurai! You Mist fools can't beat the Cloud, hahahaa!" He laughed in her face, but she made no move whatsoever. She looked at him with her features schooled, unreadable. Her stance was loose, one hand in a pocket, her form slouched slightly... This was good for two things. Quick reaction time, and the way her hand was in her pocket suggests she may have something in it, so that was the only other good thing for her in a stance like that.
